When every second counts, preparedness can make the difference between life and loss.
Personnel of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Pangasinan Chapter conducted a hands-on River Search and Retrieval Training to strengthen the knowledge and skills of PRC responders in carrying out safe, coordinated, and effective search and retrieval operations in river environments.
As part of the activity, personnel of the Manaoag Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) were invited to observe the training and learn from the techniques and procedures demonstrated by the PRC team. The opportunity also allowed the local responders to gain additional insights that may be useful in future water-related emergencies.
Prior to the training, the PRC personnel paid a courtesy call on ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐บ๐ ๐๐ด๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ผ ๐. ๐ฅ๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ผ, ๐ ๐ as part of the activity. The MDRRMO team, led by ๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ ๐ข ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐น๐ถ๐๐ผ ๐ฃ. ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ผ, also participated in the learning activity through observation and engagement with the PRC trainers.
The training highlights the importance of continuous learning, preparedness, and collaboration among emergency response organizations. By sharing knowledge and strengthening coordination, responders are better equipped to act swiftly and safely when lives are at risk.
