MANAY COMPETITIVENESS IN SGLG

The SGLG is a program established through the enactment of Republic Act No. 11292, and the DILG serves as the lead-implementing agency. It is designed to incentivize and recognize LGUs for their outstanding performance in various governance areas.

Last May 27, 2024 the Municipality of Manay thru the leadership of Mayor Jon Marco M. Dayanghirang and the Local Government Unit of Manay undergone the Regional Assessment for the SGLG 2024. Liezel Mabaslay, JBC of Negosyo Center Manay joined BPLO Engr. Rannel Tipayan, Mark Luie Tutor, and Trade and Industry Officer Jan Michael Belena during the validation.

NEGOSYO CENTER┃The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Davao Oriental Provincial Office through Negosyo Center-Manay conducted a Strategic Marketing Seminar to PPG (Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa) beneficiaries at NC Manay office, Brgy. Central, Manay Davao Oriental on May 22, 2024.

The seminar aimed to provide knowledge and skills to the target sector in Manay to attain economic growth in order to ensure productivity, sustainability, and unlimited comprehension of best practices and strategic marketing concepts. MSME retailers were provided with feasible strategies for marketing goods or services by considering the market trends suited to their business objectives. Consequently, the participants have gained a deeper understanding of consumer behavior, market dynamics, and competitive positioning.

Central, Manay Davao Oriental on May 20, 2024.

These MSME participants learned the importance of fostering an entrepreneurial mindset through lectures and interactive sessions. The speaker emphasized thw need for creativity, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in the ever-evolving landscape of business. These participants not only learn a great deal about entrepreneurial mindset but also feel motivated to move forward with their business endeavors with determination and courage.

NEGOSYO CENTER┃The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Davao Oriental Provincial Office through Negosyo Center-Manay conducted a Financial Literacy Seminar to PPG (Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa) beneficiaries at NC Manay office, Brgy. Central, Manay Davao Oriental on May 21, 2024.

The seminar provided essential knowledge to enhance their financial management skills and optimize their business operations. The speaker delivered an insightful presentation on topics such as budgeting, cash flow management, financial planning, and investment strategies that fit the specific needs and challenges faced by these MSMEs in barangay central.

NEGOSYO IEC AT DEL PILAR

Negosyo Center Manay conducted a Negosyo Center Orientation and Strategic Marketing Seminar in Barangay Del Pilar, Manay, Davao Oriental with the goal of empowering existing MSMEs and potential MSMEs on May 22, 2024. It provide participants with the necessary skills and information to succeed in the competitive business environment as part of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) goals and objectives.
The seminar provided them with strategies and helpful recommendations that were suited to their particular needs and difficulties.

Thus, it was charged with excitement as MSMEs and aspiring entrepreneurs came to discover the keys to effective business management against the hindrances or barriers they used to experience in Barangay Del Pilar.

Moreover, they learned on how to use government support services to improve their marketing skills during the orientation and seminar. Observing their determination and commitment confirmed the significant influence of programs such as these, highlighting the DTI's dedication to promoting economic development and prosperity at the community level. After the session, participants were encourage to provide ratings and feedback on the Client Satisfaction Feedback Form (CSF) to recognize their ideas and comments if any.

The Negosyo Center Manay conducted an event entitled “Negosyo Center Orientation and Entrepreneurial Mindsetting Seminar” for the indigenous youth particularly graduating students of Del Pilar National High School in Barangay Del Pilar, Manay, Davao Oriental on May 20, 2024. It was a crucial move that matched the DTI's goals and objectives with an emphasis on promoting equitable economic development and strengthening local communities as it sought to provide them the entrepreneurial mindsetting skills and experience required to succeed as entrepreneurs.

Furthermore, it emphasized the value of accepting entrepreneurship as a means of achieving both social and economic empowerment. The seminar acted as a catalyst for change, encouraging them to use their fresh and special perspectives and skills to promote sustainable development in their local community.

By means of practical guidelines and inspiring story lines, they were acquired to adapt those strategies being discussed to overcome challenges and grasp prospects, corresponding with the DTI's objectives through Negosyo Center program. After the session, participants were encouraged to give their respective ratings and comments if any through Client Satisfaction Feedback Form (CSF). The said activity was conducted by Liezel Mabaslay, the new NC Manay Junior Business Counselor.

📍EMPOWERING THE YOUTH OF MANAY

MANAY, Davao Oriental (July 19, 2023) – In a remarkable endeavor to empower local youth and cultivate their entrepreneurial spirit, food processing trainer Robert Getes and Jan Rino M. Apares, Negosyo Center Technical Staff of the Department of Trade and Industry, in collaboration with the LGU Manay, BLGU Central, and SK Central conducted a one-day comprehensive skills training program at Brgy. Central Gymnasium last July 19, 2023. The program included a Dried Fish Processing Training and an Entrepreneurial Mind-Setting Seminar aimed at equipping young individuals with the necessary skills and mindset to excel in the industry.

The initiative of the Sangguniang Kabataan of Central Hon. Jameco A. Dayanghirang sought to address the demand for skilled workers in the dried fish processing sector, while simultaneously fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and self-reliance among the youth. Robert Getes, an expert in dried fish processing and Mr. Jan Rino M. Apares, resource speaker for entrepreneurship development provided winning formula for the participants.

The Dried Fish Processing Training focused on imparting technical knowledge and hands-on skills required to transform raw fish into high-quality dried fish products. Robert Getes shared his extensive experience and expertise and guided the participants through various stages of the processing which includes fish selection, cleaning, salting, drying, and packaging. The participants learned about proper hygiene practices, quality control measures, and innovative techniques to enhance the flavor and shelf life of dried fish products.

Complementing the technical training, Mr. Jan Rino M. Apares conducted the Entrepreneurial Mind-Setting Seminar, which aimed to instill a mindset of innovation, perseverance, and business acumen among the aspiring entrepreneurs. Through interactive sessions and practical exercises, Mr. Apares emphasized the importance of market research, branding, pricing, and cost management in establishing a successful dried fish enterprise. The seminar also covered essential topics such as business registration, access to financing, and government support programs available to young entrepreneurs.

The collaboration between the LGU Manay Manay, led by Hon. Jon Marco M. Dayanghirang Municipal Mayor represented by Jan Michael Belena, OIC-MPDO, BLGU Central and SK Central represented by SK Jameco A. Dayanghirang, Robert Getes, and Mr. Jan Rino M. Apares reflects a shared vision of empowering the youth with the necessary skills and knowledge to create sustainable livelihoods. The training program not only equipped the participants with technical expertise but also inspired them to explore business opportunities within the dried fish industry.

The trainings have undoubtedly laid a solid foundation for the aspiring young entrepreneurs by combining technical expertise with entrepreneurial acumen. This collaborative effort has set the stage for a brighter future for the youth of Manay, empowering them to become self-reliant.
