Recognizing the academeโ€™s vital role in driving innovation, the Department of Entrepreneurship of Rizal Technological University (RTU), in partnership with the Office of Councilor Charisse Abalos-Vargas and DTI Negosyo Center-NCR Mandaluyong, successfully conducted their entrepreneurship exposition titled โ€œGalyong Bughaw 2026โ€, last May 13, 2026, at Greenfield Central Park, Mandaluyong City.

RTUโ€™s ๐†๐š๐ฅ๐ฒ๐จ๐ง๐  ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ก๐š๐ฐ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ” ๐ˆ๐Š๐€๐‹๐ˆ๐Œ๐€๐๐† ๐‹๐€๐˜๐€๐†: ๐•๐จ๐ฒ๐š๐ ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ˆ๐ง๐ง๐จ๐ฏ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง: ๐€ ๐๐ž๐ฐ ๐„๐ซ๐š ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐“๐ซ๐š๐๐ž forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the innovation ecosystem in Mandaluyong City by empowering emerging entrepreneurs. As part of its support for youth-driven innovation, DOST-NCR participated in the final pitching session of RTUโ€™s fourth-year entrepreneurship majors, where Engr. Rence Audry Merino of the PAMAMARISAN CASTO served as one of the panelists. The student groups presented a diverse range of food, non-food, and technology-based products that showcased innovative and market-oriented business concepts.

The activity provided aspiring entrepreneurs with valuable insights on intellectual property protection, sustainability, market relevance, and long-term business viability. Promising ventures may also be further supported through the PAMAMARISAN Innovation Hub (iHub) at Marikina Polytechnic College, which assists startups through business planning, market validation, prototyping, and other innovation support services.

The public, especially those from the PAMAMARISAN Cluster, got a look at the latest innovations developed by Filipinos through INNOViSITE: Discovering DOST RDIโ€™s Technological Advancements and Facilities, which was conducted by the DOST-NCR PAMAMARISAN CASTO on April 23, 2026. This initiative primarily aimed to introduce MSMEs to the wide range of technologies, laboratory services, and technical expertise offered by DOSTโ€™s Research and Development Institutes (RDIs) to support product development, improvement, and pilot-scale production.

A total of 22 participants, comprising of assisted companies under the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) as well as other MSMEs from the cluster, attended the activity. These entrepreneurs learned about the advanced facilities and services that can further enhance their operations. Featured during the visit were key facilities of the DOST-Industrial Technology Development Institute (DOST-ITDI), including the Simulation Packaging Testing Laboratory, Green Packaging Laboratory, Food Innovation Center, Modular Multi-Industry Innovation Center, and Halal Food R&D Facility.

Through INNOViSITE 2026, participants gained valuable insights into how DOSTโ€™s technologies and facilities can drive innovation, enhance product quality, and improve the overall competitiveness of MSMEs in the market.
