๐ŸŽ‰ 31 YEARS OF EMPOWERING EVERY FILIPINO YOUTH ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

For 31 years, the National Youth Commission has stood for the rights, welfare, aspirations, and meaningful participation of the Filipino youth.

This anniversary is more than a celebration of our journey. It is a reminder of the responsibility we carry as public servants to listen with humility, to serve with compassion, and to remain faithful to the needs and hopes of the young people we represent.

Under the banner of the 13th Commission, we reaffirm that inclusivity is not just about representation. It is about ensuring that every young Filipino is seen, heard, respected, and empowered, regardless of gender, faith, background, status, ability, identity, belief, or place of origin.

In a time when our nation continues to face many challenges, we are reminded that the youth must always have a meaningful place in shaping solutions, strengthening communities, and building a more peaceful, just, and united Philippines.

The Filipino youth are not only the future of our nation. They are already part of its conscience, courage, creativity, and hope.

As we mark NYCโ€™s 31st Anniversary, we renew our commitment to serve for and with the Filipino youth, and to continue building a government that listens, includes, and empowers every young Filipino to lead, participate, and contribute to nation-building. ๐Ÿ’™

| ABTIK LEADERS CAMP FOSTER STRONGER YOUTH LEADERS IN ASTURIAS, CEBU

The National Youth Commission (NYC), through its Cebu Area Office, supported the conduct of the ABTIK Leaders Camp 2026, initiated by the Cebu Provincial Youth Development Office, held from May 17-21, 2026, at the Municipality of Asturias, Province of Cebu. The activity served as a platform for youth leaders, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials, and youth stakeholders to strengthen their leadership competencies, deepen their understanding of youth governance, and encourage active participation in local development initiatives.

The NYC facilitated discussions on the Philippine Youth Development Planโ€™s Ten Centers of Participation and the Republic Act No. 10742 or the SK Reform Act of 2015, as amended by Republic Act No. 11768, including the roles and functions of the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC). The discussion focused on strengthening the participantsโ€™ understanding of the legal foundations of youth governance, the mandates and responsibilities of SK officials, and the mechanisms for meaningful youth participation within local government structures.

In addition to assisting with the management of the campโ€™s ABTIK Amazing Race, a high-intensity challenge course designed to test teamwork, leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among participants, the NYC also addressed youth governance questions and concerns raised by participants.

Together with the organizers, the NYC successfully created an avenue for meaningful engagement with youth leaders while strengthening awareness of youth governance, policy implementation, and participatory leadership through the ABTIK Leaders Camp 2026. The NYC is dedicated to ensuring that technical support and policy education are provided to SK officials and youth stakeholders, and that effective and accountable youth governance is cultivated at the local level to build stronger foundations for national development.
