📚✨ Culture of Reading Program Kick-off ✨📚

The Mandaue City Government, under the leadership of Mayor Jonkie Ouano ,through the Mandaue City Public Library headed by Ms. Angelina A. Cagatulia, in partnership with the Barangay Guizo Council led by Hon. Jesus C. Neri Sr. and Partner NGO, proudly launches the Culture of Reading Program.

This initiative will benefit 30 children program participants, equipping them with strengthened skills in literacy, numeracy, and child protection awareness

On behalf of the City Mayor, City Coun. Raul “Kevin” Flores Cabahug V delivered an inspiring message, underscoring the City’s commitment to education and community empowerment.

Together, we are cultivating a love for reading, empowering our children through education, and building a stronger, brighter community.

Garbo sa Barangay Labogon ang napili nga Gold Medalist sa gipahigayon nga 135th Justice Sotero Barte Cabahug Day Awarding Ceremony kagabii, Abril 22 nga gisalmutan sa nagkalain-laing college graduates gikan sa matag barangay nga nagpakita og katakos sa academics, leadership ug community service.

Si Jillian Mae Agus, nga taga Labogon, ang pinaka-unang gold medalist sa Search for the Sotero B. Cabahug Medalist sa ilang barangay. Anak sa usa ka tricycle driver ug housewife, ang ilang yano nga panimuyo wala nakapugong ni Agus nga maningkamot sa iyang pagtuon. Nigradwar siya isip Magna Cum Laude sa kurso nga Bachelor of Arts in Political Science sa Cebu Normal University.

Gawas sa academic excellence, niserbisyo usab siya og pipila ka mga organisasyon ug grupo diin iyang napakita ang iyang pagmahal sa katawhan ug ang paghatag og importansya sa panginahanglanon sa kabatan-onan.

Sa mensahe ni Agus, iyang gipasabot nga ang maong award dili lang usa ka simbolo sa iyang hinago-an apan usa ka timaan nga magpabilin siyang andam sa pagserbisyo sa katawhan ug pagtabang sa komunidad.

Atol sa maong seremonya, nipadayag si Mayor Thadeo “Jonkie” Ouano sa iyang paghandom ug pag-ila sa integridad ug bililhon nga panerbisyo sa komunidad ni Justice Sotero Cabahug nga naghatag og dakong dungog ug garbo sa matag Mandauehanon.

Gipasidunggan usab ni Mayor Jonkie ang mga napili nga mananaug, uban ang panghinaut nga ilang gamiton ang ilang nakamaohan alang sa pagtabang sa katawhan.

Ang awardees nakadawat og bronze, silver ug gold medals, lakip na ang cash incentives gikan sa lokal ng kagamhanan sa Mandaue, nga nagkantidad og P30,000 alang sa gold medalist, P15,000 sa silver medalists ug P5,000 sa bronze medalists.

Misuporta usab sa kalihukan ang Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry diin ilang napili si Christella Perez sa Barangay Tabok isip mananaog sa Leadership Award ug makadawat og P10,000 cash isip pasidungog.

RETAINED OPERATING HOURS
🕖 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM | Monday to Sunday

The Mandaue City Public Library reaffirms its commitment to accessible education and community learning with the retention of its regular operating hours. In recognition of its indispensable role in advancing scholarship, research, and civic engagement, the Mandaue City Public Library has been formally exempted from the four‑day workweek arrangement under Executive Order No. 2026‑102.

While the extended weekend E‑Library services from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM have been respectfully suspended, the Public Library continues to serve Mandauehanons during peak hours—ensuring that knowledge remains within reach of students, researchers, and the wider community.

This exemption, made possible through the steadfast support of our visionary Mayor Jonkie Ouano, reflects the City’s dedication to:

*Educational empowerment through sustained access to resources.

*Responsible governance that balances efficiency with public service.

*Energy conservation and curfew compliance for the safety and well‑being of all clienteles.
