DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION : YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Empowering High School Students / Immersions Through Digital Literacy and Workplace Exposure

As part of the Municipality of Mangaldan's commitment to youth development and digital empowerment, the Local Government Unit of Mangaldan, under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Hon. Bona Fe de Vera-Parayno, continues to provide meaningful learning opportunities for high school students through the Information and Communications Technology Management Information System (ICTMIS) Office.

Through student immersion and digital literacy initiatives, participants areintroduced to government operations, information technology services, and workplace environments that help prepare them for future academic pursuits and career pathways. These experiences bridge classroom learning with practical application while fostering a deeper appreciation for technology, public service,
and professional responsibility.

Students are exposed to various areas of learning and skills development, including digital government systems, ICT support services, events and seminar operations, software and hardware fundamentals, workplace professionalism, and network connectivity management. They also gain valuable insights into cybersecurity awareness, digital responsibility, data management, multimedia
design, and administrative support functions.

Beyond technical knowledge, the program develops communication skills, teamwork, leadership, critical thinking, adaptability, and responsibility—essential qualities that support academic success and personal growth.

Through the continued leadership of Mayor Hon. Bona Fe de Vera-Parayno and the efforts of the ICTMIS Office, the Municipality of Mangaldan remains committed to nurturing digitally literate, responsible, and future-ready learners equipped for the opportunities and challenges of tomorrow.

DIGITAL EMPOWERMENT: COLLEGE INTERNS - STUDENTS PROGRAM

Preparing Future-Ready College Students, as interns and On-the Job Trainees - Through Digital Literacy, Workplace Immersion, and Professional Development

As part of the Municipality of Mangaldan's commitment to youth development,digital transformation, and workforce readiness, the Local Government Unit ofMangaldan, under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Hon. Bona Fe de VeraParayno, continues to provide students with meaningful opportunities for digital
learning, workplace immersion, and professional development through the Information and Communications Technology Management Information System (ICTMIS) Office.

Through internship, on-the-job training, and workplace learning initiatives, college students gain firsthand experience in government operations and information technology services. These opportunities enable participants to apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings while developing industry-relevant competencies and professional workplace skills.

Students gain hands-on experience in digital government systems and eGovernance operations, ICT technical support and inter-office collaboration, software development and hardware integration, events and seminar operations, workplace professionalism and teamwork, and network infrastructure and connectivity management. They are also exposed to data analytics, cybersecurity
awareness, multimedia production, client support services, and administrative operations.

By working alongside ICT professionals and municipal personnel, students strengthen their technical expertise, communication abilities, problem-solving skills, leadership qualities, and professional work ethics—preparing them for successful careers in the digital and technology sectors.

Through the leadership of Mayor Hon. Bona Fe de Vera-Parayno and the continued efforts of the ICTMIS Office, the Municipality of Mangaldan remains dedicated to developing competent, innovative, and future-ready professionals capable of contributing meaningfully to community development and nationbuilding.

In line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr's directive to strengthen the country’s cybersecurity, the Philippines, through Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Republic of Korea, through Korea International Cooperation Agency signed a Records of Discussion on April 27, 2026 in Quezon City, for the establishment of the Philippines’ National Cyber Security Center for Enhancing Cyber Crisis Response Capabilities.
The five-year project, aims to strengthen the country's information security management capabilities; establish a National Cyber Security Center; and enhance crisis response, and develop more skilled cybersecurity professionals.
Through this partnership, both countries deepen their cooperation in advancing cybersecurity initiatives and building a more secure and resilient digital Philippines.
