The Philippine Country Coordinating Mechanism (PCCM) invites interested agencies or organizations to send their expression of interest to act as the Principal Recipient (PR) of a potential HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Grants of the Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria in the Philippines.

The Philippine National AIDS Council (PNAC) Secretariat met with the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC), an attached agency of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), last April 28, 2026, to discuss a provision in the JJWC’s ongoing policy development concerning Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) afflicted with HIV and AIDS.

DFA STATEMENT ON MEDICAL CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENT FOR FILIPINO TRAVELLERS TO OMAN

MANILA 17 April 2026 - The Department of Foreign Affairs has made strong representations with the Oman Embassy in Manila for the removal of the negative HIV medical certificate requirement for all Filipino travellers to Oman.

The Omani Embassy in Manila clarified that the HIV certificate applies only to tourists availing of the visa-free entry to Oman, and not to those who were issued work visas.

The Embassy added that this requirement is currently being seriously reviewed by the Omani government, and that a meeting next week is set to discuss the matter.
The DFA expects a positive outcome given the good and strong relationship between the Philippines and Oman.

The Philippine National AIDS Council (PNAC) is aware of reports that Filipino travelers to Oman may be required to present an HIV test certificate.

Presently, this remains unconfirmed, and we are coordinating with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) for clarification.

We advise the public to rely only on official DFA advisories and avoid sharing unverified information. Updates will be provided once available.

OO. At hindi sila dapat na makaranas ng diskriminasyon dahil protektado ang kanilang karapatan ng batas.

Dapat ding matutuhan ng bawat Pilipino ang pagtanggap, pagrespeto, at paggalang sa mga PLHIV sa halip na panghuhusga. Tulong at suporta ang nararapat para sa kanila.

Ipinaaalala sa atin nito ang tapang, katatagan, at kabayanihan ng mga Pilipino na lumaban sa digmaan para makamit natin ang kalayaan.

Sariwain natin ang kanilang sakripisyo at ipagpatuloy ang kanilang nasimulan sa pamamagitan ng ating paglaban sa stigma at diskriminasyon at HIV at AIDS.
