As Lasallians, keeping our community safe and secure is a responsibility we all share.
Before heading to campus, please make sure you're familiar with the policy on bringing self-defense items, academic tools, and prohibited objects:
๐ Self-Defense Items: Pepper spray is allowed on campus, provided it is kept secure and used responsibly. However, sharp objects, even if intended for self-defense, must be surrendered at the entrance gate before bags pass through the X-ray scanner. These items may be retrieved from gate guards upon exit.
๐จ Academic & Event Tools: Cutters, utility knives, or lab tools require prior approval. Secure an official endorsement from your professor or adviser and a permit from the Security Office and SDFO before bringing them to campus.
๐จ Screening & Disciplinary Action: Prohibited items detected during X-ray screening will be referred to the SDFO for disciplinary investigation.
