SEASONAL AGROMET ADVISORY FOR AUGUST 2026 TO JANUARY 2027
EXPECTED TO AFFECT AGRICULTURE ๐พ๐ฆ๏ธ
August to September 2026
โข The eastern part of Luzon: Take advantage of the rainfall for planting rice and other crops, but prepare for rapid soil drying as September approaches.
โข Visayas and Mindanao: Farmers may use the rainfall in September for their planting.
October 2026 to January 2027
โข There may be a dry spell and drought (soil moisture stress) due to the low rainfall in most areas.
โข The main production of rice and corn in Central and Southern Luzon, as well as in Western Mindanao, may experience soil moisture stress, which could lead to lower yields for the second cropping season.
Agricultural Drought Outlook:
โข A drought signal may exist in some areas of Cagayan, Isabela, and Pangasinan, which may intensify further.
โข Other provinces are also showing signs of increasing drought stress from August 2026 to January 2027.
