NFR-NCR SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTS NAVRESCOM COMMANDER'S CUP 2026 SHOOTFEST 3

The Naval Forces Reserve- National Capital Region (NFR-NCR) successfully conducted the NAVRESCOM Commander's Cup 2026 Shootfest 3 on 30–31 May 2026 at the PMC Shooting Range, Marine Barracks Rudiardo Brown (MBRB), Lawton Avenue, Taguig City.

The event was spearheaded by CAPT MEDARDO C. DE ACOSTA JR. , PN(MNSA)(Res), Officer-in-Charge, NFR-NCR, as part of the command's continuing efforts to promote marksmanship proficiency, operational readiness, camaraderie, and professionalism among reservists and stakeholders.

The opening ceremony was graced by MGEN DOROTEO JOSE M. JALANDONI, PN(M), Commander, Naval Reserve Command (NAVRESCOM), Philippine Navy, who emphasized the importance of discipline, competence, and preparedness in strengthening the country's reserve force. His presence highlighted NAVRESCOM's commitment to developing capable and mission-ready reservists through meaningful training and engagement activities.

Following his remarks, COL HILARIO C. DE VERA JR.PN(M)(GSC), Commanding Officer of the Naval Reservist Management Center (NRMC), likewise shared his insights and expressed his strong support for initiatives such as Shootfest 3. He underscored the importance of fostering camaraderie, teamwork, and esprit de corps among reservists through activities that encourage collaboration, healthy competition, and meaningful engagement beyond regular military duties.

The successful conduct of the event was further supported by CDR ANECITO B. LUMANTAS, PN(GSC), Commander, Naval Reserve Center National Capital Region (NRCen-NCR), whose leadership and support contributed significantly to the smooth ex*****on of the activity.

The activity gathered reservists, competitive shooters, firearm enthusiasts, and partner organizations in a two-day competition that showcased marksmanship skills while promoting responsible firearm ownership, safety, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Beyond the competition, the event served as a platform for strengthening partnerships among reserve units, civilian stakeholders, and the broader shooting community in support of the Philippine Navy Reserve Force's mission of service, readiness, and nation-building.

NFR-NCR expresses its sincere gratitude to all participants, sponsors, partner organizations, volunteers, range personnel, and support units whose invaluable contributions ensured the success of the event.

NFR-NCR Participates in Joint Assembly Test 2026, Reinforcing Reserve Force Readiness and Unity

The Naval Forces Reserve – National Capital Region (NFR-NCR) took part in the Joint Assembly Test 2026 together with the 7th Marine Brigade (Reserve) held last May 9, 2026, at the BNS Grandstand, Marine Barracks Rudiardo Brown, Taguig City.

The activity gathered more than 500 Marine and Navy Reservists in a strong display of unity, discipline, operational readiness, and commitment to national service.

The program formally commenced with welcome remarks delivered by CDR ANECITO B. LUMANTAS PN(GSC), Commander, Naval Reserve Center National Capital Region (NRCen-NCR), who underscored the importance of cohesion, readiness, and continued commitment among reservists in support of the Philippine Navy’s mission and national service objectives.

A key highlight of the activity was the presentation of troops led by BGEN ROBERTO EMMANUEL T. FELICIANO PN(M)(Res), Commander, 7MBde Reserve, and CAPT MEDARDO C. DE ACOSTA JR. PN(MNSA)(Res), OIC of NFR-NCR.

During the personnel accounting, CAPT DE ACOSTA presented strong and able force of 406 naval reservists, reflecting NFR-NCR's readiness, professionalism, and dedication to service.

The event was graced by COL HILARIO C DE VERA JR. PN(M)(GSC), Commanding Officer of the Naval Reservist Management Center (NRMC), who served as Guest of Honor and Speaker, emphasizing the vital role of reservists in national defense, disaster response, civic engagement, and community resilience.

The activity underscores the Philippine Navy Reserve Force’s continuing commitment to maintaining an organized, capable, and mission-ready reserve component aligned with the objectives of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

NFR-NCR remains steadfast in supporting initiatives that strengthen professionalism, operational preparedness, and meaningful service to the nation through collaborative military and civilian engagement.

The interview also highlighted the collaborative objectives of the Naval Forces Reserve – National Capital Region (NFR-NCR) and CPAs for Sustainability in advancing awareness, multi-sector engagement, and actionable sustainability initiatives through civilian-military partnerships.

COASTAL CLEAN-UP & ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS CAMPAIGN – Series 2

The Naval Forces Reserve–NCR, in partnership with CPAs for Sustainability, successfully carried out another impactful initiative under the banner “Accounting for Our Shores.”

This joint civil-military effort brought together professionals, volunteers, and uniformed personnel in a shared mission to protect coastal ecosystems and promote environmental stewardship. Activities ranged from coastal clean-up operations to interactive sustainability games and SDG-themed learning engagements—transforming awareness into meaningful action.

The program opened with remarks from CAPT MEDARDO DEACOSTA JR. (MNSA) PN (Res), OIC, NFR-NCR, who also served as a panelist alongside key stakeholders.

LCDR XIALEEMAR VALDEAVILLA PN (Res) highlighted NFR-NCR’s commitment to sustainability and its alignment with the Philippine Navy’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Distinguished speakers enriched the discussion, including ASEAN Scientist Diplomat Glenn Banaguas, who spoke on building a climate-smart Philippines, and Ms. Sarah Saavedra Songalia, President of CPAs for Sustainability.

The activity, was chaired by EA1 Kirby Rioja PN (Res), NFR-NCR, reflects a continuing collaboration between military and civilian sectors, reinforcing the importance of collective action in preserving ecologically vital areas like the Las Piñas Parañaque Wetland Park.

Together, we move forward in safeguarding our coastal resources for future generations.
