NFR-NCR SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTS NAVRESCOM COMMANDER'S CUP 2026 SHOOTFEST 3
The Naval Forces Reserve- National Capital Region (NFR-NCR) successfully conducted the NAVRESCOM Commander's Cup 2026 Shootfest 3 on 30–31 May 2026 at the PMC Shooting Range, Marine Barracks Rudiardo Brown (MBRB), Lawton Avenue, Taguig City.
The event was spearheaded by CAPT MEDARDO C. DE ACOSTA JR. , PN(MNSA)(Res), Officer-in-Charge, NFR-NCR, as part of the command's continuing efforts to promote marksmanship proficiency, operational readiness, camaraderie, and professionalism among reservists and stakeholders.
The opening ceremony was graced by MGEN DOROTEO JOSE M. JALANDONI, PN(M), Commander, Naval Reserve Command (NAVRESCOM), Philippine Navy, who emphasized the importance of discipline, competence, and preparedness in strengthening the country's reserve force. His presence highlighted NAVRESCOM's commitment to developing capable and mission-ready reservists through meaningful training and engagement activities.
Following his remarks, COL HILARIO C. DE VERA JR.PN(M)(GSC), Commanding Officer of the Naval Reservist Management Center (NRMC), likewise shared his insights and expressed his strong support for initiatives such as Shootfest 3. He underscored the importance of fostering camaraderie, teamwork, and esprit de corps among reservists through activities that encourage collaboration, healthy competition, and meaningful engagement beyond regular military duties.
The successful conduct of the event was further supported by CDR ANECITO B. LUMANTAS, PN(GSC), Commander, Naval Reserve Center National Capital Region (NRCen-NCR), whose leadership and support contributed significantly to the smooth ex*****on of the activity.
The activity gathered reservists, competitive shooters, firearm enthusiasts, and partner organizations in a two-day competition that showcased marksmanship skills while promoting responsible firearm ownership, safety, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Beyond the competition, the event served as a platform for strengthening partnerships among reserve units, civilian stakeholders, and the broader shooting community in support of the Philippine Navy Reserve Force's mission of service, readiness, and nation-building.
