An Owlet’s take on AFP Modernization
Philippines is a military weakling. But we need not remain to be so. This page was created to stir interest in the AFP modernization programs. The author of this page believes that we have the potential to cultivate a credible, competitive, and modern armed forces, even with the limitations posed by our economic position. Though rivaling China and other “World Powers” is still far-fetched (considering the current state of the AFP), we nonetheless have both the ability and resources to develop a small, cohesive, and modern military that will make any Power think twice before invading our tiny Island Nation.
We have the bravest and one of the most experienced armies in the world. What is left to be done is to equip them with proper tools, and empower them with proper training and well-thought strategies.
This page is a humble attempt to contribute in the public discussions regarding AFP modernization, in the hopes that some ideas may reach our policy makers and government leaders in-charged of the modernization program.
