Alay sa Pamayanan Stress Debriefing November 16, 2019

As part of efforts to make Alay sa Pamayanan services more sensitive and responsive to the needs of earthquake survivors in Cotabato and to strengthen solidarity with victims we spearheaded a Crisis Incident Stress Debriefing in Makilala Cotabato.
"Crisis Incident Stress Debriefing(CISD ) Debriefing is a specific technique designed to assist others in dealing with the physical or psychological symptoms that are generally associated with trauma exposure. " This kind of activity and sessions must be done by registered social workers or people who are trained to facilitate the ventilation of emotions through psychotherapy.

This project was conducted in collaboration and sought partnership with agencies such as Philippine Association of Social Workers - Cotabato Area and Cotabato Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office. We were able to served more than 500 earthquake victims who were in distress including vulnerable groups like women and children.

Aside from debriefing, participants received tips on psychological first-aid , spiritual counseling, games and play therapy among children to more effectively help them go through crisis events, and how to stay physically and emotionally healthy in the course of performing their functions in stressful environment.
