ADVISORY: JUANFLIX STREAMING ISSUES

Dear Mga Ka-Juan,

We are aware that some JUANFLIX subscribers using PLDT and Smart networks are currently experiencing difficulties loading or streaming films on the platform.

Our initial assessment indicates that the issue is related to third-party network and technical services, rather than the JUANFLIX platform itself. Similar issues have also been reported by other customers of our media player provider.

While the issue is outside the direct control of JUANFLIX, the FDCP is actively coordinating with our media player provider, the concerned network, and technical providers to help resolve the issue as soon as possible.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work closely with our partners to restore a smooth viewing experience.

If you continue to experience difficulties, please email [email protected] so we can assist you further.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

BUILDING GLOBAL CONNECTIONS FOR PHILIPPINES AT MIFF 2026

From August 19-22, 2026, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) joined the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) for meetings, screenings, and conversations on strengthening the film industry and creating opportunities for Filipino stories abroad.

Here are the highlights of the Philippine participation at MIFF 2026:

โ€ข Courtesy call with Consul General Jesus R.S. Domingo and Consul Ralph Vincent C. Abarquez at the Philippine Consulate General in Melbourne to discuss the current landscape and initiatives of the local filmmaking sector. Both parties also reviewed possible programs and events for collaboration.
โ€ข Met with VicScreen Head of Content Investment Samantha Dinning to share insights on the film market and local incentives, fostering a collaborative exchange of ideas and best practices.
โ€ข Sat down with MIFF CEO Damien Hodgkinson, Filipino filmmakers, Australian producers, and other industry stakeholders, engaging in exchanges on culture, perspectives, and cross-border opportunities.
โ€ข Filipino film โ€˜Filipiรฑanaโ€™ by Rafael Manuel and co-produced film (by Nathan Studios) โ€˜Nagi Notesโ€™ were screened at MIFF under the Asia Pacific program strand.
โ€ข Held a meeting with Filipino filmmakers in Melbourne to examine the local industry landscape, strengthen the agencyโ€™s support, and understand creativesโ€™ perspectives vis-a-vis tapping Filipino diaspora for technology and knowledge transfer
โ€ข Restored version of โ€˜Tinimbang Ka Ngunit Kulangโ€™ (Weighed But Found Wanting) by National Artist Lino Brocka was also screened at MIFF, drawing a full house and strengthening the PHโ€™s presence on the global stage. In attendance was James J. Robinson, director of the Philippine co-produced film โ€˜First Light.โ€™

The Philippine participation at MIFF 2026 closes with stronger connections, new opportunities and continued momentum for Philippine cinema.
