On 28 July 2026, Ireland's Ambassador to the Philippines, Her Excellency Emma Hickey, visited the National Library of the Philippines (NLP) to personally hand over the book "The Poems of Seamus Heaney," a poetry collection by the late Nobel Prize-winning Irish writer, to the NLP Director Cesar Gilbert Adriano.

Accompanied by Assistant Director Edgardo Quiros and Public Diplomacy Officer Kimberly Yu, they toured the NLP facilities—particularly the Children's Library and the Permanent Gallery—to view our literary heritage and to meet NLP librarians and staff.

​This cordial meeting signifies a hopeful and potential collaboration between the agencies for future programs.

Inspired by Larry Alcala’s beloved Slice of Life cartoons, this hands-on workshop invites children ages 9–12 to create an accordion book filled with stories and illustrations drawn from their own memories and experiences.

✨Matagumpay na idinaos ng ang Virtual Guided Tour, Storytelling, at Puppet Show session sa HistoEx na ginanap sa SM MOA Music Hall. Naging highlight ng kaganapan ang angking husay ng mga kuwentista sa pagpapakilala sa kasaysayan at mahahalagang koleksyon ng aklatan. 📚

Bukas din ang booth ng aklatan kung saan nakatampok ang mga impormasyon at piling koleksyon. Nagbibigay rin ito ng libreng konsultasyon ukol sa mga pasilidad at espesyal na serbisyo ng NLP.

👋Inaanyayahan ang publiko na bisitahin ang booth mula ngayon hanggang Miyerkules upang makibahagi sa mga kapana-panabik na aktibidad ng NLP.
