PSC Chairman John Patrick C. Gregorio joined the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) in celebrating the historic bronze medal of the Women’s Beach Volleyball Team in the 20th Asian Games.

The remarkable duo of Sofiah Pagara and Khylem Progella, together with Head Coach Joao Luciano Barbosa and Asst. Coach Leonardo Victor Gomes, won the first-ever medal for the country in the sport—defeating the powerhouse teams of China and host Japan. 👏🏻

PNVF Vice President Donn Rico Kapunan, alongside Executive Director Miguel Carlos Pacifico Suarez, Treasurer Romualdo NG, COS Juan Pablo Gregorio, Board Member Sienna Olaso, Philippine Olympic Committee SecGen Atty. Wharton Chan and Rebisco representative Allan Acero, hailed this milestone of our National Beach Volleyball squad. 🫶🏻

The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), together with the Pilipinas Sepaktakraw Association Inc. (PSTAI) and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), hosted an inter-agency meeting in preparation for the upcoming ASTAF U19 Asian Sepak Takraw Championships 2026 at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.

The Asian tournament for Sepak Takraw will take place in Manila on November 26–30, 2026, at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum and the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

PSC Chairman John Patrick C. Gregorio and Commissioner Walter Francis K. Torres attended the meeting alongside PSTAI President Karen Claire Tanchanco-Caballero, who presented an overview of the event.

Representatives from the Department of Tourism (DOT), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Philippine National Police (PNP), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Bureau of Immigration, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Manila Sports Council (MASCO), and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) were present at the meeting to discuss all the necessary arrangements between the LOC and the specific agencies.

The week-long event will be battled out by 13 strong countries, namely Bangladesh 🇧🇩, Chinese Taipei 🇹🇼, India 🇮🇳, Indonesia 🇮🇩, Iran 🇮🇷, Iraq 🇮🇶, South Korea 🇰🇷, Malaysia 🇲🇾, Myanmar 🇲🇲, the Philippines 🇵🇭, Sri Lanka 🇱🇰, Thailand 🇹🇭, and Vietnam 🇻🇳.

𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘁, 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀! 🇵🇭🫡

With a haul of 29 medals — 4 golds, 9 silvers, and 16 bronzes at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, the Philippine contingent achieved the country’s highest medal count at the games since 1966 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Beyond the podium, every single member of the Philippine delegation showed up and poured their heart out. Fighting through tough draws, breaking personal records, and lifting fellow teammates, our Filipino athletes exemplified the true heart of a champion.

While we may not have taken home every forecasted win, our team proved that Philippine sports is moving forward together.

Maraming salamat sa pagpapatunay na kapag ang laban ay para sa bayan, walang nasayang na pawis at sakripisyo. Mabuhay ang atletang Pilipino!

𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗘 𝗦𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗘🏡

After another historic run in the 20th Asian Games in Japan, the Philippine national contingent arrived back home yesterday, carrying the pride and honor of the nation. 🇵🇭

Team Philippines finished with 4 golds, 9 silvers, and 16 bronzes—a total of 29 medals—marking their highest medal count since the 1966 Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand.

Led by gold medalists Carlos Edriel Yulo, Ernest John "EJ" Obiena, and closing ceremony flag bearer Jeus Jeus Gabriel Yape, the delegation received a warm welcome from sports leaders at the Century Park Hotel in Manila.

PSC Chairman John Patrick C. Gregorio, alongside POC - Philippine Olympic Committee President Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino and Chef de Mission Richard Lim, shared a night of celebration with the squad while affirming the country's best finish in the Asiad in 64 years. 👏🏻

“This is the best performance [of Team Philippines in the Asiad] in 64 years,” PSC Chairman Gregorio reiterated.

The focus has now shifted to upcoming events, such as the SEA Games, the SEA Games Youth Plus, and the Los Angeles Olympics 2028. 🙌🏻

Registration is done through the official Batang Pinoy 2026 registration system. The registration process and access details are available on the Batang Pinoy website.

👤 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺?
The LGU’s designated HOD/DHOD manages the delegation registration. Athletes and families do not register directly as individual participants.

The HOD/DHOD enters the required information for the athletes, coaches, officials, and other members of the delegation based on the current registration requirements.
