Institute of Human Genetics - NIH The Institute of Human Genetics is the largest provider of medical, laboratory and diagnostic genetic services in the country.

NIH-IHG is the largest provider of genetic services in the country - offering diagnostic, research, and clinical management services in support of the Rare Disease Act of the Philippines (RA 9288) or the Newborn Screening Act of 2004. Over 100 people working in the institute consisting of geneticists, physicians, nurses, medical technicians, biochemists, chemists, biologists and administrative sup

port staff are dedicated to bringing genomic medicine closer to the Filipino people. There are seven units in the Institute providing world-class service: Biochemical Genetics Laboratory, Clinical Genetics and Research Unit, Cytogenetics Laboratory, Molecular Genetics Laboratory, Microarray Core Laboratory, Newborn Screening Center-NIH, Hemoglobinopathy Confirmatory Laboratory, and the Administrative Unit. Together, they are committed to bringing leadership in genetic technology and research, excellence in training and education and comprehensive patient care and family support.
