𝑹𝑬𝑻𝑰𝑹𝑬𝑴𝑬𝑵𝑻 𝑪𝑬𝑹𝑬𝑴𝑶𝑵𝒀 𝑨𝑵𝑫 𝑻𝑬𝑺𝑻𝑰𝑴𝑶𝑵𝑰𝑨𝑳 𝑫𝑰𝑵𝑵𝑬𝑹 𝑶𝑭 𝑪𝑶𝑴𝑴𝑶 𝑷𝑹𝑼𝑫𝑬𝑵𝑪𝑰𝑶 𝑪 𝑷𝑨𝑻𝑹𝑰𝑪𝑰𝑶 𝑱𝑹 𝑷𝑪𝑮

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) conducted a Retirement Ceremony and Testimonial Dinner in honor of COMMODORE PRUDENCIO C PATRICIO JR PCG, on 18 September 2025, marking the culmination of his 35 years of honorable military service.

Throughout his military career, COMMO PATRICIO passionately dedicated his life in the public service, serving key positions in the PCG which includes, Deputy Commander of the Coast Guard Logistics Systems Command, Director of the DOTr-PCG Project Management Office, and the Commander of the Coast Guard Infrastructure Development Service (CGIDS).

With his guiding principle of "building with integrity", his leadership left an enduring mark, by overseeing vital PCG infrastructure projects such as the completion of 17 infrastructure projects, delivering 693 engineering services, conducting 2,744 site inspections, activating five Infrastructure Development Units nationwide, and introducing vital circulars that gave PCG facilities a distinct and unified identity. He also steered major modernization efforts, including the procurement of Multi-Role Response Vessels (MRRVs), foreign-assisted maritime safety projects (MSEP), and fast patrol crafts, that greatly enhanced the Coast Guard’s maritime capability and readiness.

In his tribute, ADM RONNIE GIL L GAVAN PCG, Commandant, Philippine Coast Guard said, “The PCG will forever be grateful for your contributions, and the example that you have set. And for that, we really made sure that for those who will be left behind in the Coast Guard, your sacrifices, and your initiatives will not be in vain. After all, there can only be one COMMO PATRICIO in the Coast Guard.”

With humility, COMMO PATRICIO PCG closed his chapter with these principle, “In the beginning—God. In the beginning of your pursuit, God, not knowledge. In the beginning of your career—God. At the beginning of your family—God. Even in the church, it should be God. If God does not begin, God cannot defend anything there for you.”

𝘾𝙂𝙄𝘿𝙎 𝘾𝙊𝙉𝘿𝙐𝘾𝙏𝙎 𝘿𝘼𝙈𝘼𝙂𝙀 𝘼𝙎𝙎𝙀𝙎𝙎𝙈𝙀𝙉𝙏 𝘼𝙏 𝘾𝙊𝘼𝙎𝙏 𝙂𝙐𝘼𝙍𝘿 𝙎𝙏𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 𝘾𝘼𝙇𝘼𝙔𝘼𝙉

𝙄𝙉 𝙋𝙃𝙊𝙏𝙊𝙎: The personnel of Coast Guard Infrastructure Development Unit - North Eastern Luzon (IDU-NELZN) together with the Coast Guard Station Calayan personnel, conducted an inspection and assessment of the damages sustained by the station following the onslaught of Typhoon Nando.

This prompt response ensures the immediate repair and rehabilitation of the station, allowing CGS Calayan to continue its vital mission in safeguarding life, property, and the maritime domain in the northern seas.

𝑩𝑨𝑺𝑰𝑪 𝑮𝑬𝑵𝑫𝑬𝑹 𝑨𝑵𝑫 𝑫𝑬𝑽𝑬𝑳𝑶𝑷𝑴𝑬𝑵𝑻 𝑨𝑵𝑫 𝑺𝑬𝑵𝑺𝑰𝑻𝑰𝑽𝑰𝑻𝒀 𝑻𝑹𝑨𝑰𝑵𝑰𝑵𝑮

The Coast Guard Infrastructure Development Service (CGIDS), with the assistance from Coast Guard Gender and Development Center (CGGADC), conducted Basic Gender and Development and Sensitivity Training on 11 September 2025 at Leonidas Resort and Restaurant, Talisay, Batangas.

The training was facilitated by PO3 Albert R Siyang PCG who discussed the principles of Gender and Development and emphasized the importance of gender sensitivity in addressing gender-related challenges and breaking stereotypes.

The activity underscored that Basic Gender and Development and Sensitivity Training is more than just an orientation, but a step towards building an inclusive, respectful, and empowering environment for all. Through this initiative, participants were guided on understanding the difference between s*x and gender, recognize biases and stereotypes, and developing skills needed to promote equality in everyday life. Moreover, CGIDS personnel gained a deeper appreciation of how gender sensitivity enhances decision-making, communication, and professional interactions. By fostering awareness, addressing discrimination, and promoting mutual respect, the training supports the Coast Guard’s commitment to champion fairness, inclusivity, and respect within the organization.

ACCESSIBILITY LAW (BP 344) SEMINAR

An enlightening seminar on Accessibility Law (BP 344) was conducted on 15 August 2025 as a post celebration for the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilition Week. The seminar was led by 𝘾𝙊𝙈𝙈𝙊 𝙋𝙍𝙐𝘿𝙀𝙉𝘾𝙄𝙊 𝘾 𝙋𝘼𝙏𝙍𝙄𝘾𝙄𝙊 𝙅𝙍 𝙋𝘾𝙂, Commander of the Coast Guard Infrastructure Development Service, at the Coast Guard Education Training and Doctrine Command (CGETDC) Marilag Hall.

In his speech, the Commander emphasized the importance of active participation, urging CGIDS personnel to engage fully with the seminar’s objectives. With valuable insights from guest speakers AR. Rolando Perolina, Jr. and AR. Micah Vicente, this event marks a significant step toward building more accessible and inclusive PCG spaces.

The seminar on Accessibility Law (BP 344) focused on educating participants about the legal framework designed to ensure equal access to public spaces for persons with disabilities in the Philippines. The seminar highlighted key provisions of the law, such as the requirement for ramps, wider doorways, and accessible restrooms, as well as the legal implications for non-compliance. The resource speakers highlighted the impact of the law on planning and design, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity in creating environments where everyone, regardless of physical ability, can navigate with ease. The session also explored recent updates and challenges in the implementation of the law, encouraging the PCG to collaborate for a more accessible and equitable society.

CGIDS QUARTERLY PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST

The Coast Guard Infrastructure Development Service (CGIDS) successfully conducted its Physical Fitness Test (PFT) on 12 August 2025 at the Coast Guard Fleet, South Harbor, Pier 15, Port Area, Manila.

Personnel of this office actively participated in the activity, demonstrating determination and enthusiasm in support of the Philippine Coast Guard’s thrust to maintain a fit, capable, and mission-ready workforce. The test began at 0500H, with participants organized into groups to ensure smooth conduct. Trained evaluators from the Coast Guard Special Service Center (CG SSC) and medical personnel from the Coast Guard Medical Service (CG MED) were present to supervise performance and provide immediate medical assistance when necessary.

The successful conduct of the PFT reaffirms the Unit’s steadfast commitment to service excellence, while promoting health, wellness, and operational readiness among its personnel.
