Film Philippines Incentives (FPI) grantees Filipiñana, Sisa, and Silenced Nights showcase the strength and artistry of Filipino cinema as nominees for the Philippines’ official submission for the 99th Academy Awards Best International Feature Film.

FILIPIÑANA LOCAL PREMIERE AT CINEMALAYA 2026

After acclaimed international premieres at the Berlin International Film Festival and the Sundance Film Festival, Filipiñana finally comes home as the Closing Film of the 22nd Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival.

Set in an exclusive country club, the film follows Isabel, a young employee whose fascination with the club president leads her to uncover the darkness beneath its luxurious façade.

As a grantee of Film Philippines Incentives (FPI), we congratulate the team on this local premiere.

Catch Filipiñana at SM Cinemas nationwide starting August 26, 2026.

FDCP celebrates Lawrence Fajardo’s Silenced Nights for making history as the first Filipino film selected to compete in TIFF’s Platform program, the festival’s juried section dedicated to bold and distinctive filmmaking.

A recipient of the Film Philippines Office’s International Co-Production Fund (ICOF), Silenced Nights highlights the strength of Filipino filmmaking and the opportunities created through international collaboration.

The winner of the Platform competition receives the Platform Prize and becomes eligible for consideration at the Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film.
