Starting in 2025, the United Nations has designated every September 5th of the year as the International Day of the Worldโs Indigenous Women and Girls. With this, the Philippine Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (PH-EITI) honors all Indigenous women throughout its civil society organizations and communities.
In 2024, PH-EITI reporting companies with confirmed Indigenous communities impacted by mining operations reported a total of ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ฏ ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ถ๐ด๐ฒ๐ป๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป among their workforceใผ651 indigenous women from the metallic mining sector and 2 indigenous women from the oil and gas sector.
