While we may belong to different nations and come from different cultures, races, and creeds, we are all citizens of the same planet—building our collective futures together, one day at a time.

This year, we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, honoring how far we’ve come as a global society while reaffirming our shared commitment to continue the work together under the theme: “Building Our Future Together.”

As a United Nations Repository Library, the National Library of the Philippines (NLP) houses a comprehensive collection of UN publications and documents. You can read this book in celebration of UN Day by visiting our UN Collection located at the 2nd Floor Reading Room.

You can also explore a wider range of UN publications through the UN Digital Library and the UNESCO Digital Library, both accessible via the NLP eResources Portal—

As we wrap up this year's celebration of the National Heritage Month, let us remember that the story of the Filipino people remains unfinished.

The Philippine Insurgent Records (PIR), also known as the Philippine Revolutionary Records, holds countless lessons and untold glimpses into our nation's infancy. These documents have long been under the safekeeping of the National Library of the Philippines (NLP). Within the hundreds of documents in this collection are stories waiting to be rediscovered and shared with the Filipino people.

Because history does not belong solely to the great men and women immortalized in our textbooks - it also belongs to the common people. Their voices, struggles, and triumphs are preserved in the PIR, waiting to be heard. The PIR documents reflect how far we've come, demonstrating that even in the imperfections of a young nation, we have risen to the challenge of self-determination and self-governance.

You can access the digitized copies of some documents included in the PIR like the Trial Records of Andres Bonifacio, documents of the revolution, and the Acta de la Proclamacion de Independencia del Pueblo Filipino through our TeknoAklatan Database: https://nlpdl.nlp.gov.ph/PI01/home.htm

HELP US LOCATE THE LOST PIR DOCUMENTS

Parts of the collection remain missing. If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of any of these documents, we encourage you to contact the National Library of the Philippines. We respect your privacy and will keep your identity anonymous if you wish not to be named.

The stamps and markings seen in the video serve as proof and identification that the document is part of the PIR. Should you come across any of these stamps or markings in other documents, they may also be part of this historic collection. Together let us find and preserve these materials for the future generations.

If you have any information regarding this, you may reach the National Library of the Philippines through:
