RITQ Director Dr. Brando C. Palomar Represents the Philippines at EdUHK IPCRF 2026
Dr. Brando C. Palomar, Director of the Research Institute for Teacher Quality (RITQ), represented the institute and Philippine Normal University (PNU) at the International Postgraduate Conference and Research Forum 2026 at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) from July 28 to 31. Centered on the theme "Resilience and Adaptability: Preparing Global Citizens for Sustainable Development," Dr. Palomar engaged in key academic activities as an EdUHK alumnus, culminating in his presentation on "Reviewing Curriculum Implementation Designs and Support Mechanisms to Faculty and Students in Philippine Teacher Education Institutions." This RITQ study, led by Dr. Palomar as a Research Fellow at the Ateneo Research Institute for the Futures of Education, in collaboration with EDCOM II, identifies the different innovative teacher education curriculum implementation designs and varied support programs to tracher educators and pre service teachers.
Beyond presenting RITQ's policy research, Dr. Palomar mentored PNU PhD students, Mr. Kenneth Paul Gallema of NU Baliwag and Mr. Bryl Dovic Caballero of NU Cebu, who both successfully delivered their respective study presentations during the parallel sessions. This marks his third consecutive year at EdUHK's flagship forum, following an Outstanding Paper Award in 2024 and an Alumni Roundtable panelship in 2025. Dr. Palomar's continued engagement underscores RITQโs commitment to expanding international research partnerships and driving evidence-based reforms in Philippine teacher education.
