The Haven for Women (HFW) participated in the celebration of National Family Week 2026 on September 18, 2026, under the theme โFamilies, Inequalities and Child Wellbeing.โ The activity aimed to strengthen family relationships, promote meaningful interaction, and emphasize the significant role of families in supporting the well-being of their members.
As part of the event, families of the residents were given the opportunity to visit the facility and spend quality time with their loved ones. HFW staff also participated alongside their own family members, contributing to a meaningful and inclusive gathering.
The activity provided residents and their families with an opportunity to communicate in person, share experiences, and check on one another's well-being. It also allowed family members to gain a better understanding of the residents' experiences and adjustments during their stay at the facility. Through face-to-face conversations and shared activities, the event helped foster stronger family connections and emotional support.
Various recreational games and activities were conducted to encourage active participation and bonding. Attendees eagerly joined in, creating a positive and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the day.
HFW Center Head Ms. Herminia Arcangel emphasized the critical role of parents in monitoring and supporting the growth and development of their children. She stressed the importance of providing children with adequate parental attention, guidance, and quality interactionโparticularly in an environment where excessive gadget use may affect children's behavior and patience.
"Sa ating mga magulang nagsisimula ang magandang asal at disiplina na mahalagang maipasa at maituro sa ating mga anak o komunidad. Mahalagang manatiling bukas ang ating komunikasyon sa kanila upang magkaintindihan at sila'y magabayan. Mahalaga ang papel natin sa buhay ng ating mga anak," she expressed.
The Family Week celebration served as an avenue to promote the importance of family involvement, communication, and quality time in strengthening relationships and supporting the overall well-being of individuals and families.
