[LATE POST]

Last month, I led a Mobile History Class featuring the National Museum of Natural History and Rizal Park Luneta. A sudden downpour caught us as we walked toward Rizal Park, so we had to look for a covered area. Before we could even finish our cups of warm taho, however, we decided to continue our visit to a number of historic sites within the park. It was still raining when we reached the Motto Stella, but we took advantage of the privilege of having our group photos taken at the base of the monument. I rarely experience rain while conducting historical tours. But despite the weather, it was still a fun and engaging learning activity with TELUS Digital Philippines. We thank all the TELUS team members and their loved ones for their enthusiasm and genuine interest.

We also extend our sincere gratitude to the National Museum of the Philippines and the National Parks Development Committee for their warm hospitality and invaluable assistance in making this Mobile History Class possible.

Last March, Alvin Campomanes Historical Tours and Consulting (ACHTC) launched its Iloilo City Mobile History Class for the Iloilo sites of TELUS Digital Philippines (TDP).

Yesterday, I had the privilege of leading the pilot run of our new Jaro Mobile History Class with Mr. Berks Joseph Tan, featuring some of Jaro’s most significant heritage sites.

We extend our sincerest thanks to TELUS Digital University (TDU) for making this initiative possible, and to the staff of Nelly Garden Mansion, Agatona 1927 Museum Café, Casa Mariquit, and Jaro Cathedral for welcoming us and helping make the pilot run a success.

We look forward to bringing more of Iloilo’s history and heritage to life through our Mobile History Classes.

Alvin Campomanes Historical Tours and Consulting (ACHTC) is a proud partner school of TELUS Digital University (TDU).

Earlier today, I gave a special lecture, “Profiles of Ilonggo Heroism: Graciano López Jaena, Martin Delgado & Teresa Magbanua,” for TDU at TELUS Digital Philippines (TDP) - Pavia, Iloilo, for the first time. Prior to this engagement, I had given lectures at a number of TDP sites in Metro Manila.

The lecture explored the lives, ideas, and enduring legacies of three of Iloilo’s most distinguished heroes. Held in anticipation of National Heroes Day, it highlighted their contributions to the Philippine struggle for reform, revolution, and nation-building.

I invited ACHTC’s official representative in Iloilo, Berks Joseph Tan, a budding Iloilo historian who currently teaches at Iloilo Doctors College, to serve as the lecture’s reactor.

I am blessed to be able to work and spend time with my family at the same time. I was accompanied by my wife and daughter.

Thank you, TDP and TDU, for providing opportunities and platforms for us to share our knowledge and passion for Philippine history with your team members.
