is observed every 17th day of June. This was declared by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in 1995 in which it promotes awareness on the issues and ways of combating desertification and drought globally.

The Philippines, as one of the Country Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) is encouraged to actively participate in this observance. This year, the 𝘿𝘿𝘿 will be celebrated with the slogan : "𝘙𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘜𝘱 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘋𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘛𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳"

The Soil Conservation Month, observed every June of the year and spearheaded by the Bureau of Soils and Water Management (DA-BSWM), was created through the Department Order No. 2 series of 1997 by the former Secretary Salvador H. Escudero on May 21, 1997 and through the Administrative Order No. 16 series of 2007 issued by the former Secretary Arthur C. Yap. This event highlights the significance of soil and water conservation management in achieving sustainable agriculture and food security for the Filipino people. This year, Soil Conservation Month will be celebrated with the theme, "Rising Up from the Threats of Land Degradation through Soil Conservation."

This event upholds the significance of investing in the maintenance of healthy lands and land degradation mitigation through exercising responsible soil conservation management practices. These observances also recognize the collaborative involvement and united actions of every stakeholder as one of the important keys in combating land degradation.

The Sugar Regulatory Administration - Bukidnon Mill District supports the observance of the Soil Conservation Month this year.
