[𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒] Highlights from the 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 held last 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟑-𝟐𝟓 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫’𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐠. With the expert guidance of 𝐌𝐫. 𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐚 from the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC). Municipality of Maramag continues to lead the way in child-centered local administration.

The three-day session focused on strengthening our community-based mechanisms and ensuring that every child in our municipality grows up in a secure, nurturing, and protective environment. By aligning our local policies with national standards, we are better equipped to advocate for the rights and welfare of our youngest constituents.

[𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊] Our Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), in coordination with the LCPC and LCAT-VAWC Secretariat, successfully facilitated the 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐂𝐏𝐂, 𝐀𝐒𝐇, 𝐕𝐀𝐖𝐂 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐤 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 “𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞: 𝐑𝐞-𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐬 & 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲–𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦” held at New Year’s Peak, Marilog District, Davao City last October 15–16, 2025.

On behalf of our 𝐌𝐒𝐖𝐃𝐎 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚, 𝐑𝐒𝐖 , the program was formally opened by 𝐋𝐂𝐀𝐓-𝐕𝐀𝐖𝐂 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐭, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐛𝐢𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐚 𝐀𝐛𝐞𝐣𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐚 , Project Evaluation Officer I, reaffirming our duty to protect women and children.

A major highlight of the training was the drafting of a unified referral system, creating a stronger and more coordinated mechanism to ensure timely protection and support for women and children in need. Kudos to our hardworking LCPC and LCAT-VAWC Secretariats for leading and facilitating the sessions with dedication and compassion.

This meaningful initiative would not have been possible without the support and leadership of our 𝐌𝐒𝐖𝐃𝐎 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐂. 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚, and the full support of the Local Government Unit of Maramag headed by 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐞𝐥 𝐏. 𝐃𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐥.

Strengthening our commitment to child protection and anti-VAWC efforts.

[IN PHOTOS] The 2nd Quarterly Joint Meeting of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) and the Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Their Children (LCAT-VAWC) was successfully conducted last June 25, 2025 with the full participation of both councils. The session was presided over by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer, Ms. Daisy A. Lacubtan, who also serves as the presiding officer for both councils.

During the meeting, significant updates were presented, action plans were reviewed, and inter-agency efforts were strengthened to ensure the continuous promotion and protection of the rights, welfare, and safety of children and women in the municipality. The active collaboration and shared commitment of the members reflect the municipality's dedication to upholding a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all.

Joint Efforts for a Safer Community!

IN PHOTOS: On May 23, 2025, a Joint Special Meeting of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) and the Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Their Children (LCAT-VAWC) was successfully held at the Mayor’s Conference Hall.
The meeting featured the presentation of the LCAT-VAWC updates by our Municipal Local Operations Officer, Ms. Elena Rabaya, along with the results of the LCPC and CFLGA assessments. Upcoming activities and capability-building initiatives were also discussed to further strengthen our commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of women and children.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Municipal Mayor Hon. Atty. Jose Joel P. Doromal and Vice Mayor Atty. Maribeth Estrella Lopez for their steadfast support in advancing this meaningful cause.
