[𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒] A meaningful discussion on the 𝟏𝟖-𝑫𝒂𝒚 𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒊𝒈𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝑬𝒏𝒅 𝑽𝒊𝒐𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑨𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒕 𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏 was held last November 18, 2025, at the Mayor’s Conference Room, participated in by our dedicated LGU employees. The seminar was graced by our 𝑴𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒍 𝑴𝒂𝒚𝒐𝒓 𝑨𝒕𝒕𝒚. 𝑱𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝑱𝒐𝒆𝒍 𝑷. 𝑫𝒐𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒍 , together with our esteemed Resource Speaker 𝑨𝒕𝒕𝒚. 𝑲𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝑨𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒒𝒖𝒆 𝑨. 𝑫𝒂𝒅𝒐𝒍, who delivered an insightful and interactive discussion.

The activity also featured the Pledge of Commitment led by 𝑴𝒔. 𝑫𝒆𝒃𝒃𝒊𝒆 𝑳𝒂𝒖𝒓𝒂 𝑨𝒃𝒆𝒋𝒖𝒆𝒍𝒂, 𝑳𝑪𝑨𝑻-𝑽𝑨𝑾𝑪 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒕 ,reaffirming our collective stand against all forms of violence.

This seminar was successfully facilitated by the MSWD Office, headed by 𝑴𝒔. 𝑲𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝑪𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒂, 𝑹𝑺𝑾, alongside the LCAT-VAWC Secretariat.

[𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊] Our Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), in coordination with the LCPC and LCAT-VAWC Secretariat, successfully facilitated the 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐂𝐏𝐂, 𝐀𝐒𝐇, 𝐕𝐀𝐖𝐂 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐤 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 “𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞: 𝐑𝐞-𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐬 & 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲–𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦” held at New Year’s Peak, Marilog District, Davao City last October 15–16, 2025.

On behalf of our 𝐌𝐒𝐖𝐃𝐎 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚, 𝐑𝐒𝐖 , the program was formally opened by 𝐋𝐂𝐀𝐓-𝐕𝐀𝐖𝐂 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐭, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐛𝐢𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐚 𝐀𝐛𝐞𝐣𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐚 , Project Evaluation Officer I, reaffirming our duty to protect women and children.

A major highlight of the training was the drafting of a unified referral system, creating a stronger and more coordinated mechanism to ensure timely protection and support for women and children in need. Kudos to our hardworking LCPC and LCAT-VAWC Secretariats for leading and facilitating the sessions with dedication and compassion.

[𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 ]The MSWD Office, headed by our dedicated 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫-𝐢𝐧-𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐌𝐬. 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚, successfully conducted a two-day seminar and workshop on 𝐑𝐀 𝟗𝟐𝟔𝟐: 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟑𝟎–𝟑𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮 𝐔𝐧𝐨 𝐌𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐭.

The activity was facilitated by the LCAT-VAWC Secretariats, with Head Secretariat, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐛𝐢𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐚 𝐀𝐛𝐞𝐣𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐚, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐈 and graced by our esteemed resource speaker from the National Prosecution Service, 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐊𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐞 ,who shared his invaluable legal insights on the implementation and legal processes surrounding RA 9262.

The MSWD Office, in coordination with the LCAT-VAWC Secretariat, proudly facilitated a training for our VAWC officers and survivors of abuse with the theme "𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐢𝐝” held at Paradise Garden Spring Resort and Restaurant, Maramag, Bukidnon

This prestigious recognition follows the 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫-𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞 (𝐏𝐈𝐌𝐓𝐅) 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟗 𝐭𝐨 𝟏𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, which evaluated the performance of all local government units across the province based on their 2024 accomplishments. The assessment measures the effectiveness of local committees in implementing laws, programs, and services that combat human trafficking and address violence against women and children.

Maramag earned a remarkable 𝟭𝟭𝟬 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀, the highest possible score, solidifying its status as a model municipality in the region. This score reflects not only the presence of relevant policies, but also their proper implementation, documentation, and measurable outcomes that protect and empower vulnerable sectors.

The PIMTF commended the strong leadership and strategic governance of the Local Government Unit under the administration of 𝑯𝒐𝒏. 𝑨𝒕𝒕𝒚. 𝑱𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝑱𝒐𝒆𝒍 𝑷𝒆𝒑𝒊𝒕𝒐 𝑫𝒐𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒍 whose advocacy for human rights, gender equality, and inclusive development has been instrumental in institutionalizing responsive systems for women and children.

The success of the functionality assessment is a testament to the collective efforts of the Municipal LCAT-VAWC, including the active involvement of committee members, the dedication of the Technical Working Group, the diligence of secretariats, and the consistent support of council members, partner agencies, and stakeholders from both the public and private sectors.

The local government remains focused on building a 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞, 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫-𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝-𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 ,where every woman and child is free from violence, exploitation, and discrimination.

To everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes—the Technical Working Group, secretariats, council members, and all contributing offices and individuals—thank you for your unwavering passion and service. This achievement is yours as much as it is the municipality’s.

Strengthening our commitment to child protection and anti-VAWC efforts.

[IN PHOTOS] The 2nd Quarterly Joint Meeting of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) and the Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Their Children (LCAT-VAWC) was successfully conducted last June 25, 2025 with the full participation of both councils. The session was presided over by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer, Ms. Daisy A. Lacubtan, who also serves as the presiding officer for both councils.

During the meeting, significant updates were presented, action plans were reviewed, and inter-agency efforts were strengthened to ensure the continuous promotion and protection of the rights, welfare, and safety of children and women in the municipality. The active collaboration and shared commitment of the members reflect the municipality's dedication to upholding a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all.

Joint Efforts for a Safer Community!

IN PHOTOS: On May 23, 2025, a Joint Special Meeting of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) and the Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Their Children (LCAT-VAWC) was successfully held at the Mayor’s Conference Hall.
The meeting featured the presentation of the LCAT-VAWC updates by our Municipal Local Operations Officer, Ms. Elena Rabaya, along with the results of the LCPC and CFLGA assessments. Upcoming activities and capability-building initiatives were also discussed to further strengthen our commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of women and children.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Municipal Mayor Hon. Atty. Jose Joel P. Doromal and Vice Mayor Atty. Maribeth Estrella Lopez for their steadfast support in advancing this meaningful cause.
