The 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 - 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀, through the 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵, 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗢𝗩𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗗), in partnership with the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀, officially welcomes participants to the 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 (𝗥𝗣𝗟𝗣) 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 happening today until July 9, 2026 at the ICTC Conference Room, MSU Main Campus.

This intensive research capacity-building workshop brings together scholars and researchers for meaningful discussions, mentorship, and collaborative learning to develop rigorous, policy-relevant, and publishable research on religion and public life in the Philippines.

As the first RPLP convening in Muslim Mindanao, this workshop opens new pathways for scholarly exchange, international collaboration, and research innovation—strengthening the commitment to advancing academic excellence and impactful knowledge production.

Empowering MSMEs Through Intellectual Property

On July 1, 2026, the Technology and Innovation Center (TIC) of Mindanao State University (MSU), through the MSU Intellectual Property Office (MIPO)—an IPOPHL-accredited Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO)—partnered with the Ministry of Trade, Investments and Tourism (MTIT-BARMM), Lanao del Sur Provincial Office in conducting the Intellectual Property Registration for Patent, Trademark, and Copyright for MSMEs in Marawi City.

Representing MSU as resource speakers were Dir. Sarifa Sofia A. Macarambon-Ali, JD, Director of the Technology and Innovation Center, together with Ms. Johairah M. Gumampong, LPT, and Ms. Aynnah S. Pangandaman, MAN, RN, who shared practical insights on patents, trademarks, and copyright. The seminar equipped local entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools to protect their innovations, strengthen their brands, and maximize the value of their intellectual assets.

As intellectual property continues to drive innovation and enterprise development, initiatives such as this empower MSMEs to transform creativity into competitive advantage while contributing to sustainable economic growth in the Bangsamoro Region.

The MSU Technology and Innovation Center extends its heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Mohammad Aquil A. Mamainte, CPA, Provincial Director of MTIT Lanao del Sur, for the trust and confidence bestowed upon the University to support this meaningful initiative. We likewise express our appreciation to the dedicated MTIT staff for their excellent coordination and to all participating MSMEs for their enthusiasm and commitment to learning.

We also acknowledge the steadfast support of Atty. Paisalin P. D. Tago, CPA, President of the Mindanao State University System, and Dr. Annie Mae B. Berowa, Vice Chancellor for Research, Extension and Development, whose continued commitment to advancing research, innovation, technology transfer, and intellectual property has enabled the University to strengthen its extension services and foster meaningful partnerships with government agencies and local communities.

The MSU Intellectual Property Office (MIPO) proudly marks the successful conclusion of the 10-Day Online Intellectual Property Foundation Course conducted from May 4–15, 2026.

For ten meaningful days, participants from different colleges, basic education units, and external campuses actively joined the program to deepen their understanding of Intellectual Property rights, innovation, creativity, and the importance of protecting ideas and creations.

The course served as a valuable platform for meaningful discussions and learning sessions on patents, trademarks, copyrights, industrial designs, and other IP rights that contribute to research, entrepreneurship, education, and nation-building.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the University President, Atty. Paisalin PD. Tago; Executive Vice President, Dr. Abdulcader Ayo; Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Minerva Naga; Vice Chancellor for Research, Extension, and Development, Dr. Anne Mae C.
