A Call for Prudence and Restraint
At this pivotal moment, We respectfully urge you to reflect deeply before taking any step that would support the impeachment of VICE PRESIDENT SARA Z. DUTERTE. Decisions of this magnitude are never simple—they carry consequences that extend far beyond the immediate political climate and can shape public trust, institutional stability, and the direction of governance for years to come.
Impeachment is one of the most serious actions that can be undertaken within a democratic system. It is intended not as a tool for political maneuvering, but as a safeguard to uphold accountability in the most exceptional circumstances. Because of this, it demands not only strong and credible evidence, but also a careful and impartial assessment of whether such an action truly serves the greater good.
There are moments in public life when restraint is not a sign of weakness, but of wisdom. Choosing to pause, to weigh the facts thoroughly, and to consider the broader consequences reflects a commitment to fairness and integrity. It shows a recognition that leadership is not only about taking action, but also about knowing when caution is necessary.
It is also important to consider the broader impact of such a decision. For these reasons, We urge Cong. Adiong and Cong. Balindong to refrain from taking part in this course of action unless and until it is clear beyond doubt that it is justified, necessary, and in the best interest of all.
