Happy National Children’s Book Day!

Today, let’s celebrate the publication of Dr. Jose Rizal’s English translation of 𝘈𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘢𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘨 (𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘰𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘰𝘪𝘴𝘦), which appeared in the July 1899 issue of Trübner's Oriental Record in London, England. This is considered an important milestone in the history of Philippine children’s literature.

Did you know that the original copy is preserved at the National Library of the Philippines? Visitors can still admire this remarkable piece of literary history, complete with its original illustrations drawn by Dr. Rizal himself.

💻 Lanao People's Park and Public Library (LPPPL) proudly participated in the TechSolve Hackathon 2026, an initiative that brought together young innovators to develop technology-based solutions for various government offices in Lanao del Sur.

We extend our appreciation to Team INNOVEX of the Philippine Engineering and Agro-Industrial College, Inc. (PEACI) for collaborating with our office in developing and enhancing a digital system for the Lanao Public Library. Their dedication, creativity, and technical expertise demonstrate the vital role of young innovators in advancing more efficient and accessible public services.

This collaboration reflects the Provincial Government’s commitment to embracing innovation and digital transformation to better serve the people of Lanao del Sur.

PARK NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST 2026 FINAL ROUND ANNOUNCEMENT

📸 FIRST ROUND SCREENING COMPLETED!

The first round screening of the Park Nature Photography Contest, held in celebration of the "67th Araw ng Lanao: Pakaradiyaan O Sarimanok", was successfully conducted at the Lanao Public Library.

This stage featured a People's Choice voting, where visitors and members of the public cast their votes for their favorite photo entries. Based on the total votes received, the Top 14 Finalists were selected to advance to the next round of the competition.

More than recognizing outstanding photographs, this contest reflects the Lanao People's Park and Public Library's commitment to nurturing the talents and potential of our youth. By providing a platform for young photographers to express their creativity, we hope to inspire them to discover and develop their hidden talents, build confidence in their abilities, and deepen their appreciation for nature and their community through the art of photography.

Congratulations to our Top 14 Finalists, and thank you to everyone who participated in the People's Choice Voting. Stay tuned as our finalists move on to the next stage of the competition, where their entries will be evaluated by the official panel of judges.
