In its continued effort to rebuild the lives of internally displaced persons (IDPs) displaced by the 2017 Marawi Siege, the MSSD in partnership with the BARMM-MRP, successfully concluded a new round of payouts for the Bangsamoro Sagip Kabuhayan (BSK) and Financial Assistance for Non-Kathanor programs, on May 19-22, 2025, held at the MPW Gym in Matampay, Marawi City.
Under the BSK program, 656 qualified IDPs received โฑ15,000 each as livelihood support to help restore or jumpstart micro-enterprise activities of low-income and vulnerable home-based IDPs.
Meanwhile, 670 IDPs excluded from the Kathanor list received a โฑ5,000 one-time cash grant, ensuring that no IDP is left behind in the recovery efforts of the BARMM government.
In addition to these, payouts for IDPs who were unable to claim their grants during the April 28 to May 1 payout were also accommodated. Under this batch, 347 IDPs received their BSK livelihood grants, while 667 IDPs completed under the one-time assistance for excluded Kathanor IDPs.
Moving forward, MSSD and BARMM-MRP are continuing their joint efforts to validate and process new eligible IDPs through house-to-house visits, cluster-based validations, and walk-in applications.
These initiatives are part of the 12-Point Priority Agenda of the BARMM Government, with MSSD at the forefront of implementing social protection programs that restore dignity, security, and livelihood for our displaced communities. (NMD/PDD)
