The Awarding Ceremony for the Top 10 Performing Barangays of Marawi City on April 14, 2026, at ABC Hall, Marawi City stood as a powerful testament to leadership, resilience, and community excellence. The event was facilitated by the Philippine National Police Marawi City, led by PLTCOL Muhiddin G. Pagayawan, ensuring the smooth and orderly conduct of the program. It gathered key leaders and stakeholders, including the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) Marawi City headed by City Director Alibaer M. Pangandaman, as well as Hon. Camid U. Gandamra Jr., President of the Liga ng mga Barangay, in a unified celebration of exemplary barangay governance.

The highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of the Top 10 Performing Barangays: Raya Madaya 1, Dulay Proper, Biaba Damag, Sangcay Dansalan, South Madaya Proper, Sabala Manao Proper, Papandayan, Rorogagus Proper, Lilod Madaya, Wawalayan Caloocan, Rapasun, Cadayonan II, Caloocan East, Datu sa Dansalan and Fort. These barangays were honored for their outstanding commitment to public service, peace and order, and community development. The MILG Marawi Field Office reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the Katarungang Pambarangay system by actively supporting the participation of three barangay presenters from Lanao del Sur during the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) Regional Awards Committee table assessment. The MILG Marawi Field Office successfully conducted an orientation for barangay officials during the monthly meeting on March 18, 2026, in preparation for the upcoming Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) Audit, Barangay Peace and Order Committee (BPOC) Audit, and the 1st Semester Barangay Assembly. The activity aimed to guide barangays on the audit processes, timelines, and compliance requirements, ensuring their readiness and alignment with national policies on anti-illegal drugs and public safety.

During the orientation, the Field Office emphasized the importance of meeting the required indicators for both BADAC and BPOC, including the implementation of drug prevention programs, community-based interventions, policy support mechanisms, and accomplishment reporting. Barangay officials were also reminded of their responsibility to conduct a meaningful Barangay Assembly as a platform for transparency, accountability, and community engagement. City Director Alibaer M. Pangandaman provided an overview of the programs, underscoring the importance of performance-based governance, accountability, and strengthened service delivery at the barangay level. The LTIA, spearheaded by the Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government, recognizes outstanding Lupong Tagapamayapa for effectively implementing Katarungang Pambarangay and promoting peaceful dispute resolution. Ramil P. Alonto, LGOO VI, discussed the guidelines and criteria of the LTIA, while Najera A. Haron, LGOO II, presented the LoGFA-B as a regional appraisal tool that evaluates barangay functionality, identifies governance gaps, and guides capacity-building efforts.
