On May 18, 2026, at about 6:50 AM onwards, personnel of the Mariveles MPS, under the supervision of PLTCOL MAR JOSEPH B. RAVELO, Chief of Police, actively participated in the regular Flag Raising Ceremony held at Mariveles Municipal Hall, Mariveles, Bataan.

The activity aimed to instill discipline, foster patriotism, and strengthen camaraderie among government employees and uniformed personnel. It also served as a venue to reiterate commitment to public service and adherence to the core values of the Philippine National Police.

The Mariveles MPS remains steadfast in supporting activities that promote unity, nationalism, and professionalism in the performance of official duties.

The checkpoint was implemented to prevent unlawful entry and movement and to support ongoing anti-criminality operations in the municipality.

PRESS STATEMENT
PNP CONDEMNS AMBUSH OF POLICE PERSONNEL IN SHARIFF AGUAK

The Philippine National Police strongly condemns the senseless and cowardly ambush against its personnel in Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao del Sur on the evening of March 28, 2026.

Members of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company were attacked by unidentified armed suspects while en route back to their detachment following patrol and police visibility operations. The incident resulted in the death of five (5) police personnel, while three (3) others sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment.

This heinous act is a direct assault on law enforcement and a threat to peace and order. The Philippine National Police has launched intensified hot pursuit operations, in coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, to ensure the swift identification and arrest of the perpetrators.

We assure the public that all necessary measures are being undertaken to bring those responsible to justice.

The Philippine National Police extends its deepest condolences to the families of our fallen personnel. Their bravery and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

“We will not waver. This attack will not go unanswered. Justice will be swift, certain, and uncompromising.”
