In observance of the 48th National Disability Rights Week, the City Government of Masbate, under the leadership of Hon. Atty. Olga Ara T. Kho, through the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) headed by Mr. Allan T. Lim, successfully conducted the orientation on "Understanding Disability Rights: Orientation on Key Laws and Policies" for local business owners, service providers, and establishment representatives across Masbate City.

Atty. Padim Vallena discussed the Magna Carta for PWDs (R.A. 7277, as amended by R.A. 10754), detailing the rights, privileges, and legal protections guaranteed to Persons with Disabilities.

Mr. Rene Fernandez presented the PDAO Functionalities and 10 Types of Disabilities, highlighting office services and fostering awareness on proper customer engagement.

The orientation aimed to foster a more inclusive, accessible, and barrier-free environment in Masbate City by educating establishment owners on their legal mandates, proper customer relations, and physical accessibility compliance.

The orientation highlighted several pivotal national statutes that safeguard the rights of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs):

The City Persons with Disability Federation Officers successfully conducted their 6th Monthly Meeting at the CDRRMO Building.

The meeting focused on the planning and preparation for the upcoming 48th National Disability Rights Week, scheduled from July 17โ€“23, 2026.

During the meeting, the officers discussed proposed activities, assigned responsibilities, and finalized plans to ensure a meaningful and successful celebration that promotes the rights, welfare, and inclusion of persons with disabilities.

The City Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) joins the rollout training for the Unified PWD ID System! โœ๏ธ

The unified PWD ID system aims to standardize registration, eliminate fake IDs, and ensure efficient, nationwide access to benefits for Persons With Disabilities.

The City PDAO Officially received a new signature pad from the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) to be used for issuing the updated unified IDs.
The training took place yesterday, April 28, at Ranchelle Hotel and Resort, Masbate City.
