𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗠𝗛𝗦 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀

Capitolina O. Legaspi Memorial High School (COLMHS) conducted an Internal Review of School Policies with the participation of key stakeholders, including the school principal, student representative, MPTA President, barangay representative, JHS and SHS Discipline Officers, Guidance Designate, and Child Protection Coordinator.

The activity was undertaken through the school’s Child Protection Committee (CPC), headed by Ma’am Jenniper Doctolero, Principal and Chairperson, with Ma’am Camille Amador, SHS Coordinator and Guidance Designate, as Vice-Chairperson. The committee also included Ma’am Rosalinda Catalina, Faculty President; Ms. Alexa Almero, SSLG President; Mrs. Corral, MPTA President; and Hon. Marc Edward Lim, Barangay Captain, represented by Kagawad Eugene Legaspi. Supporting the review were Sir Omar Hilotin, JHS Discipline Officer; Sir Rogen Francisco, SHS Discipline Officer; and Ma’am Jessica Barrun, Child Protection Coordinator.

The review provided an opportunity to assess existing policies, identify areas for improvement, and strengthen mechanisms that promote learner safety, welfare, rights, and protection. The collaborative participation of stakeholders emphasized COLMHS’s commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and child-friendly learning environment.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗙𝗨𝗘𝗟: 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆, 𝗙𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴

Capitolina O. Legaspi Memorial High School (COLMHS) continues to strengthen learner support through Project DRIVE, a reading intervention program for 30 highly struggling readers from Grades 7–10, to be implemented from September 2026 to March 2027.

To complement the program, Project FUEL, an innovative feeding program, will provide nutritional support to the same target learners, recognizing the important link between nutrition and learning.

The Orientation for Project DRIVE and Project FUEL was conducted on July 30, 2026, led by Ma’am Alma Gonzaga, Project DRIVE proponent, and Ma’am Cheaza Marie Huelva and Sir Kennard Rapsing, Project FUEL proponents.

Through these initiatives, COLMHS reinforces its commitment to nurturing both the minds and well-being of learners—driving literacy and fueling their potential for success.

Sa pagsalubong ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa, nagkakaisa ang kaguruan ng Capitolina O. Legaspi Memorial High School (COLMHS) sa pagsusulong at pagpapahalaga sa Wikang Filipino bilang daluyan ng kultura, kaalaman, at pagkakakilanlan.

Sa temang “Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon,” patuloy nating isinusulong ang makabuluhan at responsableng paggamit ng teknolohiya upang higit na mapalawak ang pagkatuto at mapagyaman ang ating wika.

Bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa 2026, isinulong ng Capitolina O. Legaspi Memorial High School (COLMHS), sa pangunguna ng Filipino Department at SAMAFIL Club, ang Project Pakain at Pabasa sa Purok Rawis, Brgy. Igang, Masbate City.

Layunin ng proyekto na pagsamahin ang pagkalinga sa pangangailangan ng mga bata at pagpapaunlad ng literasiya sa pamamagitan ng simpleng feeding activity, pagbabasa, pagkukuwento, at iba pang gawaing pangwika. Pinili ang Purok Rawis bilang benepisyaryo dahil sa kalagayan ng ilang pamilyang may limitadong pagkakataong makapag-aral, na nagbigay-diin sa pangangailangang palakasin ang suporta sa mga bata at pamilya sa larangan ng edukasyon.

Pinangunahan nina Gng. Lydia A. Miguel, SHS Filipino Coordinator, at Gng. Honey Grace L. Torres, JHS Filipino Coordinator, katuwang ang mga g**o sa Filipino at mga kasapi ng SAMAFIL Club, ang proyekto bilang pagsasabuhay ng mga pagpapahalagang Makatao at Makabansa.

Sa pamamagitan ng Pakain at Pabasa, ipinakikita ng COLMHS na ang wika ay hindi lamang ginagamit sa loob ng silid-aralan—ito rin ay maaaring maging tulay ng pagkalinga, pagkakaisa, at pag-asa sa pamayanan.

The SDO Masbate Health and Nutrition Unit successfully conducted a School-Based Deworming Activity at Capitolina O. Legaspi Memorial High School (COLMHS) as part of its continuing commitment to promoting the health and well-being of learners. With the support of school administrators, teachers, and staff, eligible students received deworming tablets under the supervision of qualified health personnel.

The activity aims to prevent intestinal worm infections that can affect learners' nutrition, growth, and academic performance. By ensuring that students remain healthy and free from parasitic infections, the program contributes to improved school attendance, enhanced classroom participation, and better learning outcomes.

COLMHS extends its heartfelt appreciation to the SDO Masbate Health Unit personnel for its dedication to delivering essential health services and for helping create a healthier and more conducive learning environment for all learners.

𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗱𝗮 𝗘𝘀𝗸𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗠𝗛𝗦 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆'𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Capitolina O. Legaspi Memorial High School (COLMHS) successfully underwent the Brigada Eskwela Validation, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to providing a safe, clean, inclusive, and learner-friendly environment in preparation for the opening of classes.

The validation was led by Sir Marcelino Ibañez and Sir Kenneth Lim, whose guidance and assessment affirmed the school's collective efforts in implementing this year's Brigada Eskwela. The occasion was further honored by the presence of Schools Division Superintendent Nelson S. Morales, Jr., whose visit inspired the entire COLMHS community and highlighted the importance of collaboration in ensuring quality education.

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedicated leadership of our School Principal, Jenniper B. Doctolero, and the unwavering commitment of our Brigada Eskwela Coordinator, Ma'am Salve Yamson, whose hard work and coordination brought together the school and community toward a common goal.

Brigada Eskwela is more than a school clean-up activity—it is a testament to the Filipino spirit of bayanihan, where every act of service, no matter how small, contributes to creating a better learning environment for our learners.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to all our volunteers, stakeholders, parents, alumni, partner agencies, teachers, non-teaching personnel, and students who generously shared their time, skills, resources, and support. Your collective efforts made this year's Brigada Eskwela a meaningful and successful undertaking.

Together, we continue to build not only better classrooms but also a stronger and more caring school community.
