Kho, kasama si Vice Governor Fernando Talisic, mga miyembro ng Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Masbate, mga kinatawan ng Pamahalaang Panlungsod ng Masbate, mga pinuno ng iba't ibang tanggapan ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan, mga hepe ng pambansang ahensya, at iba pang kawani ng mga pambansang tanggapan.

Bilang paggunita sa makasaysayang pagkakamit ng kalayaan ng bansa, nagsagawa ng mga seremonya at programa na nagbigay-pugay sa kabayanihan ng ating mga ninuno at nagpaalala sa kahalagahan ng pagkakaisa, pagmamahal sa bayan, at pananagutan sa paghubog ng isang mas maunlad na kinabukasan para sa susunod na henerasyon.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: 𝗡𝗢. 𝟭 𝗥𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗠𝗢𝗦𝗧 𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗜𝗡 𝗠𝗔𝗦𝗕𝗔𝗧𝗘

The Masbate Police Provincial Office (PPO) successfully arrested the Region’s No. 1 Most Wanted Person during a manhunt operation conducted in the municipality of San Fernando, Masbate on June 9, 2026.

The suspect, identified only as alias “Edwardo,” an adult resident of San Jacinto, Masbate, was apprehended by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for Murder issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 50, San Jacinto, Masbate. No bail was recommended for the case.

The arrest was carried out in Sitio Patag, Barangay Salvacion, San Fernando through the joint efforts of the San Fernando Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Masbate 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, RID Tracker Team, 502nd Regional Mobile Force Battalion, and Charlie Company.

Following the operation, the accused was taken to the San Fernando Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition.

The Masbate PPO commended the effective coordination and collaboration among law enforcement units, which led to the successful apprehension of one of the region’s most wanted individuals.

Authorities continue to encourage the public to support peace and order efforts by providing information that may help in the arrest of persons facing criminal charges and other threats to community security.

Masbate's congressional representatives earned strong governance ratings in the latest RPMD Foundation Inc. “Boses ng Bayan” Governance Assessment, highlighting the province's continued commitment to responsive leadership, effective public service, and constituent-centered governance.

Conducted from April 1–8, 2026, the independent and non-commissioned survey gathered the views of 5,000 randomly selected respondents across the Bicol Region. Using RPMD Foundation Inc.'s Index of Governance (IOG), the assessment measured both Trust Ratings and Performance Ratings to evaluate public confidence and governance effectiveness among elected officials.

Among Masbate's congressional representatives, 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠. 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐨 𝐊𝐡𝐨 of the 1st District recorded an impressive 82.1% Index of Governance, placing him among the region's highest-rated lawmakers. His rating was supported by 81.9% Trust and 82.4% Performance scores, reflecting strong constituent confidence in his leadership, accessibility, and public service.

Meanwhile, 𝐑𝐞𝐩. 𝐎𝐥𝐠𝐚 𝐊𝐡𝐨 of the 2nd District earned a solid 78.5% IOG, generated from 78.2% Trust and 78.8% Performance ratings. The results indicate favorable public assessments of her district representation, responsiveness, and service delivery.

Completing Masbate's congressional delegation, 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠. 𝐓𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐊𝐡𝐨 of the 3rd District posted a 74.7% IOG, backed by 74.1% Trust and 75.3% Performance ratings, demonstrating continued public support and positive evaluations from constituents.

The assessment found that accessibility, visibility in the district, responsiveness to constituent concerns, and effective delivery of government services remain among the key factors influencing public trust and governance ratings. Lawmakers who maintained strong engagement with their communities consistently received favorable evaluations.

According to RPMD Foundation Inc., an IOG score of 70% and above signifies very strong public approval and governance effectiveness. All three Masbate representatives exceeded this benchmark, underscoring the province's strong performance in congressional representation.

The results reflect the importance Masbateños place on accountable, accessible, and results-driven leadership. As public expectations continue to evolve, the assessment affirms that trust and confidence are strengthened through meaningful service, responsiveness to community needs, and sustained governance performance.

MASBATE CITY — The Rank No. 6 Provincial Most Wanted Person was arrested by joint operatives of the Masbate City Police Station and Masbate MARPSTA during a manhunt operation conducted in Brgy. Espinosa, Masbate City on June 1, 2026.

The suspect, identified by the alias “Lando,” was apprehended by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for R**e in Relation to RA 7610. No bail was recommended for his temporary release.

Authorities said the arrest reflects the continuing efforts of the Masbate Police Provincial Office to track down wanted persons and uphold peace, order, and justice in the province.

• The Department of Education (DepEd) announced that School Year 2026–2027 will officially begin on June 8, 2026.

• In preparation for the opening of classes, Masbate OPOS is taking proactive measures to help ensure smooth traffic flow and safer travel for students.

• Traffic management plans are being coordinated to reduce congestion in key areas during school hours.

• Brigada Eskwela 2026 activities are also underway, bringing together volunteers, teachers, parents, and community members to prepare schools for the new academic year.

As part of the continuing efforts to strengthen livestock production and improve the genetic quality of large ruminants in Masbate, the Masbate Provincial Veterinary Office, through the initiative and leadership of Provincial Veterinary Officer Dr. John Avila, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Milagros through the Municipal Veterinary Office led by Dr. Emilio De Jesus, conducted an Artificial Insemination (AI) Program for large ruminants using Murrah buffalo genetics.

The initiative aims to enhance breeding efficiency, increase productivity, improve herd quality, and provide better economic opportunities for livestock raisers in the municipality. Through the use of modern reproductive technologies, local farmers are given access to quality breeding services that contribute to sustainable livestock development and increased farm income.

Under the guidance of Dr. John Avila, the Provincial Veterinary Office continues to implement innovative livestock development programs that promote genetic improvement, increased animal productivity, and sustainable agricultural growth across the Province of Masbate.

The Provincial Veterinary Office remains committed to delivering accessible veterinary and livestock development services in support of the Provincial Government's goal of advancing the livestock industry and improving the livelihood of Masbateño farmers.

Congressman Tony Kho, together with Congresswoman Olga Kho, Governor Richard Kho, and Mayor Arah Kho, recently met with TIEZA Chief Operating Officer Mark Lapid to discuss priority tourism development projects aimed at boosting tourism, generating economic opportunities, and enhancing the province’s infrastructure.

Also present during the meeting were City Administrator Dr. Adonis Dilao, Provincial Tourism Officer Gerardo Presado, and Chief of Staff Joannes Ablog.

Among the key projects endorsed by Congressman Tony Kho was the proposed ₱150-million façade lighting project for the Masbate Social Center, envisioned to further elevate the province’s premier landmark venue and strengthen its appeal for tourism, cultural activities, and major public events.

The delegation also presented the proposed ₱130-million boardwalk project at the Buntod Reef Marine Sanctuary, one of Masbate’s top eco-tourism destinations. The development aims to improve visitor experience while promoting environmental protection and sustainable tourism practices.

Another significant proposal discussed was the construction of a ₱30-million Jetty Port in Barangay Nursery, a project expected to improve transport connectivity and support the continued growth of tourism and local commerce.

Before the meeting concluded, TIEZA COO Mark Lapid was formally invited to attend the Bagat Dagat Festival 2026 as one of the province’s distinguished guests, further strengthening partnerships in promoting Masbate’s rich cultural heritage and vast tourism potential.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. administered the oath of office to the newly elected national and regional officers of the Provincial Board Members League of the Philippines (PBMLP) at Malacañang Palace on Wednesday.

During the ceremony, President Marcos emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between national and local governments to ensure that programs and services reach communities more effectively. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to empowering local government units through direct funding support, enhanced local governance initiatives, and policies that promote grassroots development.

The PBMLP represents provincial legislators from 82 provinces nationwide and plays a vital role in advancing local governance and public service.

Also present during the oath-taking ceremony was Board Member Hon. Teddy L. Danao, Jr., who attended and took part in the event as a representative of the Province of Masbate, reaffirming the province’s commitment to effective local governance and public service.
