The two agencies held a 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, to discuss the formulation of a comprehensive 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 covering seven barangays: 𝗔𝗹𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗼, 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘀, 𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗴, 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗽𝗲, 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗾𝘂𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗱.

𝗗𝗔𝗥-𝗣𝗣𝗕𝗗𝗗 𝗢𝗜𝗖-𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗣𝗢 𝗠𝗮. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗮 𝗕. 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗮𝘆𝗼 and her team, together with 𝗘𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘇𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗝𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘆 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗧. 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗰, discussed priority programs and projects aimed at addressing the needs of 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 in the proposed ARC.

The development plan will serve as a guide in identifying 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱, 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 that can contribute to improving the 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗼-𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿-𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.

The meeting also emphasized the need for a 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 to provide legislative support and facilitate the 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening case build-up operations to help accelerate the resolution of criminal cases nationwide.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. emphasized that police play a critical role in the justice system, as the quality of evidence gathered during initial investigations can significantly affect case outcomes.

“A systematic and strong case build-up will always contribute to the prompt resolution of cases,” Nartatez said, stressing the importance of efficient evidence gathering and close coordination with prosecutors to ensure that justice is served at the soonest possible time.

The PNP chief issued the statement following Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo’s call for swift, credible, and efficient judicial proceedings that strengthen public trust.

Nartatez also directed police personnel to ensure that complaints move efficiently from preliminary investigation through prosecution and conviction, in line with the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla to improve law enforcement coordination and streamline case processing.

The PNP continues to implement reforms focused on evidence-based investigations and strict adherence to due process.

“We stand with the judiciary in ensuring the swift resolution of cases,” Nartatez said.

For Masbate, this commitment reinforces the importance of effective police investigations, proper case build-up, and strong coordination among law enforcement and justice-sector agencies in promoting a faster, fairer, and more responsive justice system.

𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗖𝗼𝗹. 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗼, 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 — A 30-year-old man was arrested by personnel of the Uson Municipal Police Station (MPS) after he allegedly attempted to evade a police checkpoint and was found in possession of suspected illegal drugs and an unlicensed firearm in Barangay Del Carmen, Uson, Masbate, in the early hours of August 5, 2026.

According to the police report, Uson MPS personnel were conducting a regular checkpoint operation when the suspect allegedly attempted to avoid the checkpoint. Backup personnel immediately pursued and intercepted him.

During the incident, the suspect allegedly threw a green container, which was later found to contain sachets of suspected shabu.

Following his arrest, a lawful body search was conducted, resulting in the recovery of a caliber .38 revolver without a serial number and two rounds of ammunition from his personal belongings.

Authorities also recovered six small sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated total weight of approximately two grams and an estimated street market value of ₱𝟭𝟯,𝟲𝟬𝟬.𝟬𝟬.

Other items seized included a green container, two pieces of aluminum foil, a black backpack, and a Honda XRM motorcycle.

The recovered evidence underwent marking, inventory, and photographing in the presence of the suspect and required witnesses, in accordance with established operational procedures.

The suspect, along with the seized items, was brought to the Uson Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and the filing of appropriate charges for alleged violations of 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗡𝗼. 𝟵𝟭𝟲𝟱, 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗴𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟮, and
𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗡𝗼. 𝟭𝟬𝟱𝟵𝟭, 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁.

The Masbate Police Provincial Office emphasized that police checkpoint operations remain an important component of its campaign against criminality, helping authorities identify and intercept individuals allegedly involved in illegal drugs, unauthorized fi****ms, and other violations of the law.

A significant legislative measure has been filed by 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗿. 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝗧. 𝗞𝗵𝗼 in the 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 to recognize and provide lasting support for Filipino national athletes who have brought honor and pride to the country through their achievements in sports.

𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗡𝗼. 𝟭𝟬𝟬𝟱𝟬, titled "𝗔𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘁𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀, 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀" and Appropriating Funds therefore, seeks to institutionalize meaningful recognition and benefits for national athletes. The measure will be known as the
"𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗔𝗰𝘁."

The proposed legislation aims to establish a 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀, ensuring sustained assistance and welfare programs for deserving national athletes in recognition of their invaluable contributions to Philippine sports and nation-building.

Through this initiative, Congresswoman Dr. Elisa T. Kho reaffirms her commitment to honoring Filipino sports heroes and promoting the welfare of athletes who have proudly represented the Philippines on the national and international stage.
