We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the Skills Enhancement and Product Innovation Training on Buri Weaving held last June 26, 2026 in Barangay Matagbac, Milagros, Masbate.
The training was participated by dedicated local weavers from Barangay Matagbac. It was spearheaded by the Municipal Tourism Culture and Arts Office headed by Ms. Carmen B. Cortes, with the assistance from Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Masbate Provincial Office represented by Business Counselors Ms Angelika R. Guerrero and Ms Janina Y. Verano and also with Mr. Gary M. Lasala, Cooperative Development Specialist of LGU Milagros.
This training aims at elevating traditional buri weaving with modern product innovations and refined techniques. It equips our local weavers with competitive skills needed to transform buri into high-value, market ready products, by blending cultural heritage with contemporary design, these artisans are ready to expand their businesses and boost the local economy.
