Moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over (PuertoGalera, SanTeodoro, Baco, Calapan, Naujan, Victoria) within the next 1 to 2 hours.

The above conditions are being experienced in (Aroroy, Baleno, San Jacinto, Monreal, Masbate City), (San Roque, Pambujan, Laoang, Palapag, Mapanas, Catubig), (Gubat, Barcelona), (Pandan, Bagamanoc, Caramoran, Panganiban, Viga), and (Santa Cruz, Torrijos) which may persist within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides.

Building Earthquake Evacuation Plan
Balay Pagasa, F. Magallanes

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office successfully conducted a one-day Building Earthquake Evacuation Planning (BEEP) Workshop for the Balay PAGASA, F. Magallanes, City of Masbate. The activity was participated in by the staff of the City Social Welfare and Development Office and residents of the facility. During the workshop, the CDRRMO Training Team facilitated lecture-discussions on earthquake preparedness, focusing on the importance of establishing an effective and organized evacuation plan to ensure the safety of all building occupants during seismic events.

At the end of the activity, all participants took part in an earthquake drill and simulation exercise to apply the knowledge and skills they acquired throughout the training. The simulation also served as an assessment of the implementation and effectiveness of their developed Building Earthquake Evacuation Plan.

The conduct of this activity aims to strengthen the preparedness and response capabilities of staff, residents, and other building occupants by equipping them with practical knowledge and skills on earthquake safety and emergency evacuation procedures. Through initiatives such as this, the CDRRMO continues to promote disaster awareness and contribute to building a safer, more resilient, and disaster-ready community.
