August brings double the celebration! 🎉❤️

As our beloved City Mayor celebrates her birth month, she continues to put our senior citizens first. Our August Senior celebrants joined the celebration in high spirits, filled with joy, gratitude, and appreciation.

Led by the OSCA Chairperson, a total of 653 birthday gift packages were distributed across all barangays from August 25–27, 2026.
Grateful smiles and happy hearts filled every barangay as our senior citizens received their special birthday gifts.

🎂 Happy Birthday to our beloved City Mayor and to all our August Senior celebrants! May this celebration bring you happiness, good health, and many more meaningful years ahead.

Pre-Marriage Orientation and Counseling (PMOC)

For August 2026, a Pre-Marriage Orientation and Counseling (PMOC) was conducted in 4 sessions, serving a total of 20 couples. The said activity was held at the CSWD Office and EOC.

On August 25, 2026

The City Government, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), conducted an Orientation on Foster Care to prospective foster parents, Punong Barangays, and selected presidents of women’s organizations in the city. The activity was designed to equip participants with a clear understanding of the foster care system and its vital role in providing care and support to children in need of parental guidance and protection.

Delivering the opening message on behalf of the City Mayor Hon. Atty. Olga T. Kho, Ms. Merien C. Esber, the City Information Officer, expressed full support for the activity and the broader foster care program. The message emphasized that every individual can play a meaningful role in helping children find safe, nurturing families—even on a temporary basis—and called for strong collaboration in the successful implementation of the program.

A comprehensive discussion on the foster care program was then thoroughly presented by the two (2) resource persons from the Regional Alternative Child Care Office (RACCO) Ms. Mary Rosanne P. Bien- SWO I and Ms. Sarah Jean C. Quililan -SWO II . They provided detailed insights into the processes, requirements, benefits, and responsibilities involved in foster care, ensuring that participants gained a complete and accurate understanding of the program.

The event concluded with a closing message delivered by the Pasirungan Center Head Ms. Gregoria Grace S. Competente, speaking on behalf of the OIC-CSWDO Ms. Maria Hanna D. Mirandilla, Gratitude was extended to the City Government and RACCO for their invaluable support that made the activity possible. Participants were also encouraged to actively champion the program and advocate for its promotion within their respective barangays, working together for the welfare and betterment of children in need of care.

The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) is deeply pleased and honored to be recognized through Resolution No. 207-2026 of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Masbate City.

This recognition is a testament to the dedication, compassion, and commitment of the CSWDO in responding to incidents involving children and youth, particularly in ensuring their safety, protection, welfare, and well-being. Together with the Masbate City Police Station (City-PNP), Masbate Police Provincial Office (Masbate-PPO), Office of Public Order and Safety (OPOS), and barangay officials, the CSWDO demonstrated the importance of prompt action, coordinated efforts, and compassionate intervention in providing necessary support to affected students and the school community.

We sincerely thank the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Masbate City for acknowledging our efforts and for recognizing the importance of strong inter-agency coordination in protecting our children and youth.

This recognition inspires us to continue serving with compassion, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the people of Masbate City.
