Following the implementation of the Municipal Government of Matag-ob's regular 5-Day Workweek Schedule pursuant to Executive Order No. 24, Series of 2026, the Municipal Emergency Operations Center (EOC) hereby informs the public that the Time Alarm Signal Schedule will likewise revert to its original timings:
🕖 7:00 AM
🕛 12:00 NOON
🕔 5:00 PM

This schedule shall take effect June 1, 2026.

The public is advised accordingly.

A Fire Response Drill Simulation will be conducted in Brgy. Balagtas on Thursday, May 28, 2026, starting at 4:00 PM onwards.

Please be advised that this is only a simulation exercise. Residents are requested not to panic upon seeing the movement of response teams, emergency vehicles, and related drill activities.

This activity aims to enhance community preparedness, coordination, and response during actual fire emergencies.

The above conditions are being experienced in (Carigara, Capoocan, Kananga, Jaro, Pastrana, Javier, Mahaplag), (Sogod), (Baclayon and Corella) which may persist within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

As of 8:00 PM today, 05 May 2026, the Low Pressure Area (LPA 05a) is being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and is "UNLIKELY" to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the Tropical Depression (formerly LPA 05b) is being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

All are advised to monitor updates from DOST-PAGASA.

Weather Update – Municipality of Matag-ob

Based on the latest Tropical Cyclone Threat Potential and official guidance from PAGASA, the threat level remains ACTIVE, but there is no immediate cause for concern.

The tropical cyclone east of the country is still far and not directly affecting Matag-ob.

Current forecasts, including guidance from Google DeepMind and Windy.com, suggest the system is not likely to significantly affect Leyte.

Advisory!

The EOC will continue close monitoring and will issue advisories if there are any significant developments.

Residents are advised to avoid sharing unverified social media posts, especially claims of a strong typhoon hitting the Philippines, as these have no official basis.

Please rely only on updates from PAGASA and MDRRMO Matag-ob.
