Notre Dame of Matalam Joins Forces with Café Manen for a Heartwarming Community Feeding Program

In a shining example of community spirit and generosity, Notre Dame of Matalam successfully conducted a Community Feeding Program at Kibudoc Elementary School on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. The program held in partnership with Café Manen Restaurant was also a celebration of the birthday of the restaurant’s owner, who chose to share his special day by giving back to the local community.

The event provided meals, school supplies and a joyful atmosphere to over a hundred learners of Kibudoc Elementary School. Smiles lit up the faces of the children as they were served hearty meals by volunteers from both Notre Dame of Matalam and Café Manen.

Spearheaded by the Mr. and Ms. Diverza 2025 Winners and other Candidates of Notre Dame of Matalam, the program was designed not only to nourish young learners physically, but also to teach the values of compassion, service, and community engagement.

In a brief message, Mr.Jomarie C. Saporno, the owner of Café Manen expressed heartfelt thanks for being able to spend his birthday in such a meaningful way. “There is no better way to celebrate life than by giving joy and care to others,” he shared. His kind gesture was met with applause and gratitude from teachers and parents.

Kibudoc Elementary School expressed its deepest appreciation for the initiative. Sir Romeo Jr. B. Torres commended the both organizations saying that this feeding program is a huge help to our learners especially those who come to school on empty stomachs. It shows that kindness and cooperation can truly make a difference.

With great pride and joy, Kibudoc Elementary School led by our brilliant School Head, Sir Romeo Jr. B. Torres, Principal-I has successfully secured the approval of its Enhanced School Improvement Plan (E-SIP) for School Year 2026–2028.

This achievement would not have been possible without the active involvement and support of our dedicated stakeholders, whose voices and contributions have shaped a more inclusive and responsive E-SIP. Sa temang "Paglinang sa Filipino at Katutubong Wika: Makasaysayan sa Pagkakaisa ng Bansa" ay matagumpay na idinaos ng Paaralang Elementarya ng Kibudoc ang taunang pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika noong ika 28 ng Agosto 28, 2025 sa Bulwagan ng Paaralan.

Layunin ng selebrasyon na higit pang paigtingin ang pagmamalasakit at pagpapahalaga sa wikang Filipino at mga katutubong wika bilang haligi ng pagkakaisa ng sambayanang Pilipino.

Nagpakitang gilas ang mga mag-aaral sa iba’t ibang patimpalak tulad ng pagbigkas ng tula, paggawa ng islogan, paligsahan sa isahang awit, at ang pinakainaabangang pagrampa ng katutubong kasuotan, kung saan itinampok ang makukulay at makasaysayang pananamit mula sa iba’t ibang panig sa bansa. Ipinamalas ng mga mag-aaral hindi lamang ang kanilang talento kundi pati na rin ang malalim na pag-unawa sa kahalagahan ng wika at kultura.

Ayon kay G. Romeo Jr. B. Torres, punong-g**o ng paaralan, “Ang wika ay hindi lamang ginagamit para sa komunikasyon kundi tagapag-ugnay ng ating kasaysayan at pagkatao bilang isang lahi. Sa pamamagitan ng mga ganitong pagdiriwang ay naipapasa natin sa kabataan ang pagmamahal sa ating sariling wika at kultura.”

Masaya at makabayang damdamin ang buong programa na dinaluhan ng mga g**o, magulang, at mga mag-aaral mula sa iba’t ibang baitang. Sa pagtatapos ng programa, ginawaran ng parangal ang mga nagwagi sa bawat patimpalak bilang pagkilala sa kanilang husay at sipag.

Sa ganitong paraan, patuloy na pinangangalagaan ng Paaralang Elementarya ng Kibudoc ang pamana ng Wikang Filipino at mga katutubong wika kasabay ng pagtataguyod sa pambansang pagkakaisa.

Kibudoc Elementary School Hosts Orientation on Explosive Ordnance Risk Education by FSD France Team || August 14, 2025

In a significant step toward promoting student safety and awareness, Kibudoc Elementary School hosted a special orientation session on Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE), conducted by the FSD France Team on August 14, 2025.

The session aimed to educate students and staff about the dangers of explosive remnants of war, including landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Through interactive presentations, visual aids, and real-life case studies, the FSD team helped participants understand how to recognize, avoid, and report potentially dangerous items.

The FSD (Fondation Suisse de Déminage) France Team represented by Marianie Abas, Adzhar Baluan, and Nassera-illa Limba known for its global humanitarian mine action efforts, emphasized the importance of community awareness—particularly in regions where explosive hazards may still pose a risk due to past or ongoing conflicts.

During the orientation, students were taught:

* How to identify common signs of explosive hazards
* What to do (and not to do) if they encounter suspicious objects
* The importance of spreading awareness to friends and family

Sir Romeo Jr. B. Torres expressed his gratitude, stating, “We thank the FSD France Team for their time and effort in delivering this crucial education. It’s not just about safety in the school; it’s about empowering our students to become informed, responsible citizens in their communities.”

The session concluded with a Q\&A segment, where students actively engaged with the FSD facilitators, demonstrating a strong interest in learning more about explosive risk prevention.

This initiative is part of Kibudoc Elementary School broader commitment to student welfare and community engagement, ensuring that education goes beyond the classroom to address real-world issues that affect young people and their environments.

July 25, 2025 — Matalam, Cotabato— Kibudoc Elementary School recently conducted a well-attended Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) assembly, bringing together the school administrator, teachers, and parents to strengthen community collaboration and discuss the school’s future plans.

Held at the school’s multipurpose hall, the program began with opening remarks from the School Principal - Sir Romeo Jr. B.Torres, who emphasized the importance of continued partnership between the school and parents in nurturing student development. Highlights of the assembly included comprehensive presentations on upcoming school projects, enrichment programs, and extracurricular activities aimed at further enhancing the academic and personal growth of students.

Among the future plans discussed were the improvement of the school, the launch of a ARAL Program - reading intervention, and series proposed activities scheduled for this school year. Teachers and PTA officers also proposed the Improvement of Gulayan sa Paaralan that includes the beautification and rehabilitation of the school garden.

Parents were given the opportunity to ask questions and share suggestions during the open forum, fostering a spirit of cooperation and mutual support.

To cap off the assembly, a much-anticipated raffle draw was held, sparking joy and excitement among attendees. Prizes including household items and school supplies were given away, bringing smiles to the faces of lucky parents and adding a festive touch to the event.

The assembly ended on a high note, reinforcing the strong bond between the school and its parent community, and setting a hopeful tone for the months ahead.

July 24, 2025 – Matalam, Cotabato — Kibudoc Elementary School took a significant step in promoting health and wellness among its school community as it welcomed a medical team from the Schools Division Office of Cotabato last July 24, 2025. The activity focused on strengthening medical support for teachers, conducting dental check-ups for Kindergarten and Grade 1 learners, and facilitating a school-wide deworming activity.

Led by Dr. Jun Relly V. Domaoan - Medical Officer III, Dr. Nina Jean S. Flores - Dentist II, Anthony Gasoar Palmones- Dental Aide and Cecile J. Segumban - Division’s OK sa DEPED Coordinator, the initiative aimed to provide accessible and preventive health care services to both teaching personnel and learners.

Teachers received individual medical consultations where their health concerns were addressed, and they were given professional advice on maintaining wellness, managing stress, and preventing common occupational health risks.

Simultaneously, all Kindergarten and Grade 1 learners underwent dental check-ups. The young students received oral health assessments, learned about proper dental hygiene, and were given referrals for any follow-up care needed. The dental activity aimed to instill early oral health awareness and address potential dental issues among the youngest learners.

In addition to medical and dental services, the team also facilitated a deworming activity for all learners in the school. This is part of the Department of Education’s commitment to reducing parasitic infections among schoolchildren and improving their overall health and school performance.

Sir Romeo Jr. B. Torres, School Principal 1 of Kibudoc Elementary School, expressed his deep gratitude to the Medical Team from Division Office. He said, "We are very thankful for the support extended by the Division Health Team. Their presence ensures that both our teachers and learners are given the care they need to stay healthy and focused on learning."

Through these strengthened medical efforts, Kibudoc Elementary School reaffirms its dedication to creating a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for every member of its school community.

With a strong background in education who was recently passed the National Qualifying Examination for School Heads and having a passion for students' success, Sir Torres is already looking ahead with optimism and a clear vision for the future.

"I’m honored to join with the Kibudoc ES family," said Sir Torres. "This school has a rich tradition of academic excellence, and I’m excited to work alongside our talented staff, dedicated families, and inspiring students to continue building a learning environment where everyone can thrive."
