๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿฅฌ VEGETABLE SEEDLINGS DISTRIBUTION AFTER THE TRAINING ๐ŸŒฑ

As part of the continuing efforts to promote organic vegetable production and sustainable gardening, vegetable seedlings were distributed to the participants after the Training on Organic Vegetable Production and Vermicomposting conducted on August 26, 2026.

The activity was conducted under the KUGI (Kaalam sa Uma, Gugma sa Kinaiyahan) Program of Hon. Irick Irick Aldaba Agbon, with the aim of encouraging participants to put into practice the knowledge and skills gained from the training through the establishment of their own organic vegetable gardens. ๐Ÿฅฌ๐ŸŒฑ

The provision of vegetable seedlings serves as a concrete step toward promoting food security, healthy communities, and sustainable backyard and community gardening.

Through the continued support of the KUGI Program and the efforts of the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist, we bring not only knowledge to our communities, but also the planting materials needed to turn that knowledge into productive action. ๐Ÿ’š

On August 28, 2026, the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist (OMAg), Matanao conducted the distribution of vegetable seedlings to beneficiaries in Barangay Tamlangon and Donganpekong, Matanao, Davao del Sur, under the KUGI (Kaalam sa Uma, Gugma sa Kinaiyahan) Program of Hon. Irick Aldaba Agbon. ๐ŸŒฟ

The activity aims to encourage families and community members to establish and sustain their own gulayan, promoting access to fresh and nutritious vegetables while strengthening household food security. ๐Ÿฅ—๐ŸŒฑ

Through the KUGI Program, we continue to empower our communities by providing quality planting materials and agricultural support toward a greener, healthier, and more food-secure Matanao.

The 2-Day Training on Organic Vegetable Production and Vermicomposting was successfully conducted on August 25โ€“26, 2026 at Barangay Asinan, Matanao, Davao del Sur, through the partnership of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Local Government Unit of Matanao, under the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) Program.

This initiative was made possible through the leadership and support of Mayor Irick Aldaba Agbon, who continues to champion programs that empower farmers and communities through sustainable and innovative agricultural practices. ๐ŸŒฑ

The training aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of participants on organic vegetable production and vermicomposting, promoting practical, sustainable, and science-based agricultural technologies. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿฅฌ๐Ÿชฑ

Through lectures and hands-on activities, participants learned proper organic vegetable production practices and the preparation and utilization of vermicompost to improve soil health and support healthy crop growth.

This collaborative effort reflects the commitment of DOST and LGU Matanao to empower local communities through Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) while promoting sustainable agriculture, food security, environmental stewardship, and improved livelihood opportunities.

A fruitful day of planting hope and promoting food security! ๐Ÿฅฌ๐ŸŒฟ

The Office of the Municipal Agriculturist conducted the distribution of vegetable seedlings on August 24, 2026 for the Gulayan sa Paaralan in Barangay Buas, as well as to the 4Ps beneficiaries of Barangay Buas and Sitio Kilong, Manga, and Barangay Ceboza, in line with the KUGI (Kaalam sa Uma, Gugma sa Kina-iyahan) Program of Hon. Irick Aldaba Agbon.

The activity aims to encourage school communities and families to engage in backyard and school gardening, provide access to nutritious vegetables, and strengthen community participation in sustainable food production. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿฅฌ

Through the KUGI Program, we continue to plant not only vegetables, but also hope, healthy families, and a more food-secure community.๐Ÿ’š
