Adaptation and Mitigation Initiative in Agriculture (AMIA) – MIMAROPA

The AMIA Program of the Department of Agriculture promotes climate-resilient agriculture by helping farming and fishing communities adapt to the impacts of climate change while improving their livelihoods.

Through the establishment of AMIA Villages, the program serves as a platform for piloting and promoting Climate-Resilient Agriculture (CRA) technologies, diversified farming systems, and sustainable agri-fishery enterprises. These communities function as learning sites and innovation hubs where farmers, local governments, and partner institutions work together to develop and scale climate-adaptive solutions.

In the MIMAROPA Region, AMIA supports communities through:

🌱 Climate-resilient farming technologies and diversified production systems
🌦️ Climate Information Services and agro-climatic advisories
🐔 Sustainable livestock and enterprise development
🌾 Community-based adaptation and capacity building
🤝 Partnerships with LGUs, farmer organizations, and development partners

Through research, innovation, and collaboration, the program aims to transform vulnerable agricultural communities into resilient, sustainable, and enterprise-driven AMIA Villages.
