The Provincial Veterinarian's Office together with the Municipal Agriculture Office - Tarragona conducted a Massive Rabies vaccination and animal health caravan in Barangay Limot, Tarragona last January 29, 2026.

A huge thanks to all the responsible pet owners who showed up! Together, we’re building a Rabies-Free community.

The provincial veterinary office conducted a medical intervention for cattle with re**al and va**nal prolapse in Barangay Don Salvador Lopez, Mati City. A purse-string suture was done around the a**s and va**na to prevent the reoccurrence of the condition. Appropriate antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications were given to support recovery.

The Provincial Veterinary Office together with the Municipal Agriculture Office -San Isidro and National Dairy Authority conducted a two-day animal health and artificial insemination services for cattle and carabaos in Barangays Bitaogan and Talisay, San Isidro on March 17-18, 2025.

This specialized veterinary program benefited 58 farmers in the area, where 11 animals were injected with hormones for estrous synchronization and 13 animals were artificially inseminated. To complete this comprehensive health program, a total of 57 animals received deworming treatment and injectable vitamins.

The office is committed to continuing these services for our livestock farmers in remote areas who usually struggle to access these specialized veterinary services.

Seventy-five livestock farmers from four high-risk barangays – Macangao, Limbajan, Ilangay, and Cabadiangan participated in the discussion aimed at preventing animal and human casualties during heavy rains and floods.

Dr. Eric R. Dagmang gave emphasis to the importance of pre-emptive evacuation to prevent human death and livestock losses.

A significant result of the discussion was the identification of evacuation and safe zones for animals. These identified strategic areas are elevated to prevent overflowing and were specifically selected for vehicle accessibility, ensuring prompt and easy feed distribution during emergencies.

Ms. Rio Janice A. Galimpin conducted a brief orientation on proper chicken raising techniques to ensure the successful raising of the dispersed animals. The orientation centered on the essential care practices and feeding methods.

The Provincial Government of davao Oriental continues to implement various livestock dispersal programs to improve the livelihood of farmers across the province.
