In partnership with BJMP Lupon District Jail, the DICT Davao Oriental Provincial Office conducted the Digital Literacy Training on Online Productivity Tools and Cyber Hygiene for 35 participants composed of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) and Jail Officers.
As technology continues to shape how we live, work, and communicate, digital skills have become essential for everyone. This initiative aims to ensure that Persons Deprived of Liberty are not left behind by the rapidly evolving digital world. By equipping them with practical ICT skills while they serve their sentences, the training helps prepare them for life after their releaseโgiving them the confidence and competencies needed to adapt to technology, pursue future employment opportunities, and successfully reintegrate into society.
Through interactive discussions, live demonstrations, and hands-on workshops, participants learned basic computer concepts, cyber hygiene, Gmail, Google Meet, online productivity tools, and the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI). They also experienced AI-powered music generation, discovering how emerging technologies can be used not only for productivity but also for creativity and innovation.
