Andres Bonifacio y De Castro was born on November 30, 1863.
Andres Bonifacio is considered the Father of the Philippine Revolution. In 1892, he helped start the secret revolutionary society, “Katipunan.” Together, they instigated military revolts against Spain. As their military leader, he recruited many to his cause, eventually becoming the most prominent revolutionary force under the Spanish rule.
His courage and tenacity inspired many. Today, we celebrate not just a national hero, but a man who stood by his beliefs even at the face of danger all for the sake of his beloved country.
Happy Bonifacio Day!
