In accordance with the Department of Education's (DepEd) mandate to protect and promote the right to and access to quality basic education, DepEed collects various data and information, including personal information, from various subjects using different systems. Kawit National High School first opened its door to the public in June 1975 as part of the Barangay School. It was formerly named as Barangay Kawit High School originally located at Barangay Kawit Proper in the grounds of Kawit Elementary. Eventually, the school separated from the Barangay School and in January 1993, it was fully transferred to its present location at E.E, Kawit, Medellin, Cebu. The school changed its official name to Kawit National High School. At present, Kawit National High School is the lead secondary school in the District of Medellin, Cebu. The school has a population of over 1,000 students with 18 sections in junior high school and 6 sections in senior high school. Currently, a total of 32 teachers are handling junior and senior high school subjects. The school offers two senior high school tracks: 1.)General Academic Strand (GAS) with an elective subject in Fundamentals of Accounting; 2) Technical-Vocational-Livelihood Track (TVL) specializing in the four TLE areas namely Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM), Carpentry, Bread and Pastry, and Computer Animation and Programming. All of our TVL teachers are certified TESDA NC holders.
