September 21, 2026 | DILG Merida Provides Secretariat Support to 3rd Quarter MPOC-MADAC-MTF-ELCAC Meeting

DILG Merida facilitated and provided secretariat support during the 3rd Quarter Joint Meeting of the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC), Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC), and Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF-ELCAC), held at the Mayor’s Extension Office, Poblacion, Merida, Leyte.

LOOK | Merida MPOC and MADAC Provide Support to Component Councils

In support of the National Peace Consciousness Month, the Municipality of Merida conducted the Strengthening Institutional Capacities for BADACs and BPOCs (SICAP-BADAC and BPOC Training) on September 17, 2026.

The capacity enhancement activity was facilitated through the collaborative efforts of DILG Merida, PNP Merida, and PDEA, aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (BADACs) and Barangay Peace and Order Councils (BPOCs) in fulfilling their respective mandates.

During the activity, PDEA Provincial Officer Bryan P. Ponferrada, together with Mayor Rolando M. Villasencio, PMaj. Ronald D. Espina, and MLGOO Diana Jane B. Salas, presented the resolutions recognizing certain barangays that retained their Drug-Free Status following thorough validation. Mr. Edgardo Gorgonio of Kabalikat Civicom, a CSO-member of the MPOC and MADAC also witnessed the said activity.

The initiative underscores the Municipality’s continuing commitment to strengthening grassroots peace and order mechanisms and sustaining drug-free communities.
