The Schools Division Office – City of San Fernando, La Union, through the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID), successfully conducted the Orientation on DepEd Order No. 35, s. 2025, titled “Guidelines on the Language Mapping Process (LMP) for Key Stage 1,” on June 6, 2026 (Saturday), at the Division Training Center.
The activity forms part of the Department of Education’s continuing efforts to operationalize the Language Mapping Process (LMP) as a systematic mechanism for identifying and classifying the primary languages spoken by learners from Kindergarten to Grade 3. It aimed to equip teachers with a deeper understanding of the LMP guidelines and the proper administration of the Language Identification Tool (LIT), ensuring accurate language profiling of learners and supporting the effective implementation of the Comprehensive Rapid Literacy Assessment (CRLA).
The orientation gathered all Kindergarten to Grade 3 teachers across the division, who actively participated in the discussions and workshops designed to strengthen their capacity in carrying out the language mapping process. Through this initiative, the Department reinforces its commitment to promoting inclusive, responsive, and evidence-based literacy programs that recognize and address the linguistic diversity of learners.
