This decision underscores our belief that political representation should not be reduced to filling slots in the council. With the current socio-political climate, we recognize the need to cultivate sustainable systems that further capacitate our student leaders in navigating the complexities of student governance. By choosing a period of realignment, PMB pushes to sustain the quality of its service, opting to refine our platforms and fortify our grassroots foundations rather than offering leadership that is anything less than complacency.

Ultimately, PMB remains steadfast in its mission as a socio-civic political organization, asserting that the work of a student-leader is a continuous duty that extends far beyond an election cycle and our immediate constituency. Our dedication to the university is proven through our consistent advocacy and the brand of leadership we cultivate within our posts and community. We affirm our position as a permanent fixture in the struggle for student rights, resolute in our belief that true service reflects the impact we make and the principles we uphold, regardless of the office we hold.

𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐝𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐬𝐰𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧 𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐁𝐮𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟕𝟗𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐬𝐨, 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐬 𝐎𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔. This was hastily declared by authorities as a legitimate operation, yet no independent and credible investigation has been conducted to substantiate these claims; instead, the killings have involved civilians and non-combatants, including community workers, researchers, journalists, and activists. Among those whose lives were unjustly taken was Alyssa Alano, a fellow iskolar ng bayan, activist, and community organizer whose commitment to the people placed her on the very frontlines this violence seeks to erase.

The so-called “counterinsurgency” staffing done by the Armed Forces of the Philippines is nothing more than a facade of their real intentions to weaponize red-tagging, terror, and violence to silence dissent and dismantle entire communities. What the state refuses to confront are the very conditions it has produced: landlessness, poverty, and systemic neglect. Long-standing conditions that have cornered generations to resort to such avenues. It has become easy to reduce these deaths as mere necessity when you have fascists and tyrants sitting at the top, wielding their iron fists to wedge their own sense of service to the nation, when in reality, they have failed the people.

Real service to the nation was embodied by Alyssa who earnestly studied, documented, and lived with the community in Toboso to understand and take part in alleviating its conditions. Instead, this service was met with bullets. Because a nation operating on impunity, oppression, and fascist tendencies is quick to eliminate those that remain steadfast in organizing and mobilizing the masses.

This is not new to everyday iskolars and activists. This has been a pattern of violence that declares itself as a condition if one is to serve the people. We refuse this normalization.

𝐏𝐌𝐁 𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝𝐲. The organization recognizes itself as part of a larger collective that has long fought for our rights to organize and push for genuine progress through different means of activism, including the work done by Alyssa. It joins, in sorrow and grief, the friends, families, and communities that have been touched by her ingenuity, determination, and willpower. But our grief is not passive, it is sharpened into resistance. We remember Alyssa not only in mourning, but in continuing the fight she lived and died for.

After a series of evaluation, Hans was admitted to Batch 13 of the 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗔𝗣𝗠). The Academy of Political Management is a progressive political leadership training program. It caters to second-line leaders of progressive organizations and/or individuals who are committed to the values of 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺, 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, and plans to pursue social and political development work and political management positions.

Opisyal na Pahayag ng Partido Sang Mainuswagon nga Bumulutho sa Ika-40 Anibersaryo ng EDSA People Power Revolution

Apat na dekada na ang lumipas mula nang patunayan ng mamamayang Pilipino na ang kapangyarihan ng bayan ay higit na makapangyarihan kaysa sa anumang diktadura. Ang EDSA ay hindi lamang alaala kundi paninindigan: ang taumbayan ang tunay na pinagmumulan ng lehitimong kapangyarihan.

Sa ika-40 taon ng People Power, malinaw na ang hindi pagdedeklara ng Pebrero 25 bilang pambansang holiday ay hindi simpleng administratibong hakbang kundi isang pagtatangkang pahinain ang kolektibong alaala at paliitin ang makasaysayang papel ng mamamayan sa pagpapatalsik sa diktadura. Kapag binabawasan ang espasyo ng EDSA sa pambansang kamalayan, binabawasan din ang pagpapahalaga sa demokrasya at pananagutan.

Ang EDSA ay paalala na may hangganan ang kapangyarihan ng sinumang nasa puwesto. Ito ay patunay na kapag ang estado ay lumilihis sa tungkulin nitong paglingkuran ang bayan, may karapatan at kakayahan ang mamamayan na manindigan at panagutin ang mga namumuno. Sa panahong muling nangingibabaw ang dinastiyang pulitikal, kultura ng impunidad, at malawakang panlilinlang, higit kailanman ay kinakailangan ang malinaw na paggunita—hindi paglimot.

Sa ilalim ng administrasyon ng Marcos Jr., patuloy na umuusbong ang mga pagtatangkang linisin at baguhin ang naratibo ng nakaraan habang binabalewala ang mga aral ng Batas Militar. Sa nakaraang administrasyon ni Duterte, pinalaganap ang kultura ng karahasan at impunidad sa ngalan ng kampanya kontra droga, kung saan libu-libong Pilipino ang nasawi sa mga operasyong extrajudicial killings. Ang lohikang ginamit upang bigyang-katwiran ang pagkitil ng buhay—na ang karahasan ay solusyon sa suliraning panlipunan—ay tahasang pagtalikod sa hustisya at pagyakap sa paghihiganti bilang patakaran ng estado. Samantala, si Duterte ay hinaharap ang mga proseso ng batas at tinatamasa ang due process, habang ang maraming biktima ng EJK ay hindi man lamang nabigyan ng pagkakataong ipagtanggol ang kanilang sarili—mga buhay na minsang ibinaba sa antas ng “collateral damage”.

Ang Partido Sang Mainuswagon nga Bumulutho ay naninindigan na dapat manatiling pambansang holiday ang Pebrero 25; dapat ipagtanggol ang katotohanan laban sa historical distortion at rebisyonismo; at dapat wakasan ang paghahari ng mga dinastiyang patuloy na kumakamkam sa kapangyarihan at nagpapahina sa demokrasya. Nanawagan para sa mas malawak na edukasyon hinggil sa Batas Militar at People Power, para sa pananagutan sa bawat paglabag sa karapatang pantao, at para sa mga polisiyang magpapalakas sa partisipasyon ng mamamayan at maglilimita sa konsentrasyon ng kapangyarihan sa iilang pamilya.

Ang panawagan ay hindi lamang paggunita kundi pagkilos. Ang diwa ng EDSA People Power Revolution ay hindi nabubuhay sa seremonya kundi sa sama-samang tindig ng mamamayan. Kung tinatangkang paliitin ang Pebrero 25 sa papel, palalakihin ito sa lansangan at kamalayan; kung nais itong gawing karaniwan, gagawin itong makabuluhan. Hindi ito araw ng pahinga kundi araw ng pagbangon—araw ng pag-aaral, pag-oorganisa, at paninindigan para sa bayang may hustisya at pananagutan, hindi dinastiya at korapsyon.

Sa ika-40 anibersaryo ng EDSA, pinipili ang lakas kaysa takot, ang alaala kaysa paglimot, ang pagkilos kaysa pag-urong. Ang kasaysayan ay hindi nabubura sa kalendaryo—ito’y sinusulat sa konsensya at ipinaglalaban sa bawat henerasyon. Hindi mananahimik ang tinig na may katwiran, hindi yuyuko ang isip na mulat sa katotohanan; hindi bibitaw ang paninindigang nakaugat sa hustisya at kalayaan—sapagkat habang may umaabuso sa kapangyarihan, may mamamayang handang lumaban at manindigan.
