The UP Board of Regents (UP BOR) recently confirmed the results of the Faculty Regent elections held from Nov. 20 to 21, 2024. In its 1395th meeting on Nov. 28, 2024, the Board declared Early Sol Gadong from UP Visayas (UPV) to be the next Faculty Regent.

A mathematician, artist, and human rights activist who campaigned on a platform of โ€œwellness, well-being, and welfareโ€ for the Universityโ€™s faculty body, Gadong received a total of 1,935 votes. Faculty Regent-elect Gadong will succeed incumbent Faculty Regent Carl Marc Ramota when the latterโ€™s term ends on Dec. 31, 2024.

Bahagi ng itutulak ni Teacher Early Sol Gadong ang nakabubuhay na sahod at dagdag na benepisyo hindi lamang ng kaguruan kung hindi pati na rin ng admin staff at REPS.

Bilang isa sa mga convenor ng UP Salary Fight Network at masigasig na nagkampanya para sa , kinikilala ni Teacher Sol ang halaga ng pakikiisa sa laban ng lahat ng mga kawani ng pamantasan, kasama na ang mga lecturers, TA/TF, pati na rin ng mga JO/COS.
